Stopped by the Omega boutique …

Passed by the Omega boutique and talked watches with a salesperson. He then asked if I wanted to try this Seamaster as I mentioned I am not a fan of their He escape valve.

Well, It’s just beautiful. I did not want to take it off.

I would be interested to hear the ownership experience pros and cons of my fellow WCs.

No experience, but I’m with you. This is a great looking watch, and the He valve is terrible.

Tried on a Seamaster 300 at an AD a few years ago, blue dial. Stunningly gorgeous watch. But the flat case profile and long lugs on my skinny wrist wasn't a good match. The BB58 I went home was a better match...for my wrist and my wallet!

·

I love this watch. Go for it, man!

·

Love the vintage look on this model

·

It's a beauty! I got an Aqua Terra... this was my next pick.

·

I just got an AquaTerra and it’s a great watch. 2 gripes, no micro adjustment, and small screws for the links. There are 2 screws and a pin to hold each link together.

·

I wear it every day. It’s the most versatile watch I own. If I’m going on a 3 week camping trip this is the watch I grab. If I’m spending 2 months traveling for work this is the watch I wear. Throw a strap or two in my bag and don’t look back. Absolutely killer movement too. Just flip through my WRUW posts. I put my NTTD Seamaster on today because I hadn’t worn it in almost a month.

Get a Tudor BB58. Cheaper, same vintage look. Mines on a leather strap. I do like Omega. I own 2. I just think that it's hard to beat the value of a Tudor..

I can’t speak highly enough about this watch. Look on the grey market though. I bought my 300 heritage 1 month old, never worn with a full factory warranty box and papers for 4k on EBay. That’s Tudor money for a watch that’s head and shoulders above a BB.

·

Love mine. 41 mm and no HEV hits the spot. It's low key and wears very nice on my wrist (7.5 in). Highly recommend it.

If it's a budget driven decision, I get it. Otherwise, no comparison. Omega all the way.

I think this is a stunning watch. It is one of the best divers omega do and for the price one of the best full stop regarding its build finish movement sizing proportions and design

It’s pricey so I went with a Baltic aquascaphe for a fraction of the price and I love it

·

Had the previous model for nearly 4 years & it's awesome, love it more everyday.

Don’t sleep on the aqua terra as an option as well. 300 is a great watch if you are after the vintage inspired look.

·

I'm a big fan of it in pictures and I haven't tried one in person, but on other peoples' wrists I think it wears too big given the vintage look. I gave some serious thought to its Railmaster cousin years ago before I ended up with an Explorer 14270.

·

I have this watch and I love it. Classic Omega dial and hands. Have the BB58 gilt dial also and if price is not an issue I would go with the Seamaster 300

·

Owned it lovely watch. I think it'll age better than the SMP. My only criticism is the partially polished links and the much higher price tag than the regular SMP.

I agree. And frankly with a 6.5 inch wrist I probably won’t get it.
