I recently returned from a work Trip to Sorrento, Italy. It was amazing and my first trip abroad, but this post is about watches and not the trip itself π.
So, as I was going through the airport in Rome, I see Rolex and Omega Boutiques. I, being, the watch nerd that I am, needed to go inside because further investigation was needed. What I was curious about was their supply so here's what I found out...
Rolex:
Only a few exibition pieces, BUT what was interesting is that the person indicated they had just sold a solid gold Sub right before I had arrived (I wasn't in the market haha), but it was interesting. I started looking at the Air King, and she seemed to imply it was available. I, being the direct person I am, asked if she had a no date sub. She said no, and that their stock was low. What I found interesting is that there were no games, it was like buying toothpaste off the shelf in CVS pharmacy. If she had it she would have let me purchase it. No waiting, no games...etc. This was EYE opening for me. I have another trip to Europe in 2024 so I shall be prepared!
Omega:
The had a case full of watches except the 50th anniversary snoopy which the rep said wasn't one they get often. I could have picked up almost any Omega which was nice. Noted.
What did I pick up, look books. They gladly gave them to me, and I gladly received them and hauled them all the back across the Atlantic!
For those wondering what I wore...I wore my Omega Seamaster Professional 300. Great all-around travel watch!
Like being in a candy shop. Always next time.
Cheers!
I love killing time in airport ADs!
Interesting to hear about the Rolex store π
Bet they had no stocks of the new coloured dial Aquaterras?
American airports suck
Will be at that airport in April.Β
Will have to hit the Vostok boutique πππ.

Exactly! I'll be prepared for sure!

It was my first time. The Airport in Rome was like a mall. They had all of the brands for various goods. Burberry, Gucci etc. etc. Plus, other Italian brand items. I now know I need to get to the airport super early to shop haha!
American airports suck
They aren't as cool.Β

I didn't recall seeing that one, but I wasn't looking for it either.Β

It's a cool airport...get that cash ready!
A work trip to Sorrento Italy you say? Β Thanks for taking one for the team!
American airports suck
There better than UK airports π
Did they have the Seamaster 300 pro Green available? If so, might be day return flight to the airport?Β
Very interesting, thanks for sharing. Sounds like a great trip.Β
I got married in Sorrento, beautiful place. The whole Amalfi Coast is!
I wore my omega 300M SMP all over Italy this past summer during my honeymoon!
It is so nice to hear someone having a good experience at a Rolex AD. Β Isn't shopping in Europe so different than in the US? Thanks so much for sharing the details of your trip.
