Pelagos 39

When I first saw the specs of the Pelagos 39 on paper they looked great! Putting it on my wrist in real life Made me question the watch. I like the design, love the red tekst on the dial but God did I wish it was stainless steel with polished elements!!! If tudor would make a Pelagos in stainless steel and finish it like a sub it would bring Back the look and feel of a tudor submariner in a New jacket. And I’m sure it would sell like crazy. For me the Pelagos is a no because of the grade 2 titanium used and the lack of finishing. How do you feel about the New Pelagos?

I felt the same. Excited upon release but when the AD offered it to me, it was a big let down on the wrist.

It’s still a beautiful watch in pictures, but not for me to wear. If they released it in the same blue as the original Pelagos, I may have to revisit..

I love mine and I love it for the same reason you hate it, I bought for that purpose, less bling very tool like and light weight can’t really complain about it it’s serves it purpose, but I think you’ll prefer either the BB58 or BB54 if you like steel bling…

If you want steel, why not just get a Black Bay series? They have plenty of options.

Personally think I'd prefer the less "blingy" looks of the titanium to be honest 😀

I think it is one of the best 'Tool' watches out there. It gets alot of wrist time for me.

It looks great on your wrist.

Personally, I actually don't like shiny stuff - especially if it's a tool watch. It might sound strange but to me, polishing something which is going to get scratched up makes me feel like it's either trying too hard, or it's not fit for purpose. Of course, a good few years of life and little patina and I can warm to polished SS, but that first inevitable scratch on a pristine polish...😭

No, I'll happily take the titanium.

Grade 5 polished elements and some brushed Titanium for that kind of money . It is too stark for me , high quality watch just too stark for me .

I love it. I want one. I don’t know when or if I can fit it into the schedule.

I still hope someday they will have a date option on the 39. Maybe I should simply go for a Sinn u50 if it won't happened.

Sinn is always a great choice!

Dont like the sunburst finishes. Hope they introduce a matte version later.

I got the call and am picking mine up tomorrow morning. I haven't seen it in person yet, but I do hope that it's everything I am hoping it will be in terms of looks. I actually like the satin finish of titanium because it doesn't pop like SS. But then I also like the minor sunburst effect of the dial and bezel because there's a slight pop lol. I think it's subtle enough that it stands out, but not enough where I have to worry about thieves *knock on wood*. I do plan on wearing the watch with a rubber strap or an Artem Loop-less strap.
