Calling all Crunchers. I need your vast wealth of information. My wife and I drove up to the mountains to visit her parents for thier 70 birthday. (Thier birthdays are a few days apart.) We are spending the weekend at thier house and are throwing a birthday party for them tomorrow.
So we're setting around the living room chatting it up and my father in-law tells me he has a little surprise. Then he disappears for a minute and then proceeds to whip out theses bad boys. I was kind shocked. I've never heard he had watches and I've never seen him wear one. He then tells me they belonged to his father and grandfather.
So here's where I need you help. What do you know about the 3 watch?
The first one is a Rolex Oyster Precision
The second is an Omega Constellation
The third is an Omega SeaMaster calendar
Any info will be appreciated thanks!

Very cool watches. Can't offer much info, but perhaps a site like the following may help provide some information, especially in terms of an estimate of potential financial value.

Wow great collection! A very cool surprise I am sure
Love them all! Wasn't the constellation a Genta design?

Yeah. I'm not to worried about the value. It would be nice to know but they aren't leaving his possession. What cracks me up is he has had them serviced. I gave them a quick wind and they all started moving. I asked him what he knows about them. He said "not much". So I thought I'd find out for him. Thanks for the link. I'll check it out.

Yeah. Watches were the last thing I was thinking when he disappeared. Pretty cool though. I'm really impressed.

I'm not sure yet. I'm trying to process all this. I know it's a pie pan and the black dial is not to common. I searching the web now.
Can we assume he has no boxes, receipts or papers? Have you checked the back for model #s or other identifiers?
The constellation has the correct caseback.
The seamaster doesn't have any markings but the bracelet looks correct.
I haven't opened them up and I probably won't as they are not mine.

The hands on the rolex look like they are not original, but I am out of my depth. Clearly, I am fascinated by the mystery.

Yeah man me too. For sure.
Ref 6084. Dial is similar. It looks like the applied indexes at 3 and 9 have left the watch.
Looks like the Rolex may be a 6022…

I think you're right I found the exact same watch on Chrono 24. I posted a photo on comments already. Thanks for the help.
Grandpa and Great Grandpa had great taste!
Someone had good taste, that is evident.
They are worthy of restoration/service and wear.
Hands on the Rolex can be the right ones, there are plenty of oyster precisions with those type of hand sets, but they look re-lumed. The Constellation is interesting they don't often come with a black dial. It's got the so called dog leg lugs and a pie pan dial. It's probably from around 1962 and will have a caliber 561 movement in it.
I'm pretty sure the the Omegas are original. The constellation is by far my favorite.
Nothing cheap and nasty there wow 🤩
No the family had good taste.

They have bees serviced and they run. Unfortunately or maybe it's good the watches went back into the safe where they came from.

That would be a shame not to enjoy them.

They are not mine. I did however get him to bring them out. It's a start right. Small steps around the In-laws. Hopefully they'll get to see some real daylight soon. And what's better is now I know they are there. My wife is an only child after all. 😂

The rolex hands re-lume could have been done during the service you mentioned. All three of them are very cool watches. Cheers
There's is no lume on the hands. They are gold. Your seeing a reflection. Here's a photo off of Chrono24. It's the same watch as my father in-laws. Same hands too. However I wouldn't doudt that some of the watch has been swapped out. The story I was told was his great grandfather bought it new. I won't be able to find out for sure what the watch is until they get opened up. Right now I'm happy they exist.

I forgot to sent the photo
Well that's great news, you got yourself an instant vintage collection.

Well l don't know if it will mine but if it's going to stay in the family it will go to my wife. That might be close enough.
More watches for @eddie1 to inherit?! That kid! 🤙😂❤️
He's gonna get an awesome collection for sure. Although he's working on a pretty impressive collection on his own.
Those are old work horse most older than most of us.
💯 Older than me for sure and I'm old. My kids remind me quite often. But just like me those watches work perfect.
