First SOTC 2023

Wanted to contribute to Watch Crunch by sharing my current collection. Just been a lurker til now lol.

Got the Aqua Terra first, then the BB58, and then the Seiko. Aqua terra and BB58 were purchased to mark a special event and Seiko was just a impulse buy.

Got the green, blue, and white (actually silver sunburst if you look closely), and am looking to fill the rest of the watch box with 3 different colors.

As of now I’m thinking of eventually filling 2 more spots with another Aqua Terra in Saffron and Grand Seiko SBGW283.

Any suggestions for the 6th spot taking into consideration my tastes (based on my current collection and next 2 planned purchases)?

Definitely enjoying being a part of this community!

Welcome. Your first mistake was starting with the Aqua Terra. You never need another watch after that. You added two more diver GADA watches. The next AT will add a 4th GADA diver, then you went with an elegant dress watch.

I would stick with the diver motif, but would get a GMT or chronograph to add an interesting complication. Something from the Omega Planet Ocean line would be my preference.

·

I think what you have and plan to get are perfect. If you really must get a 6th watch, consider a classic g-shock (DW5600) or a field watch.

·

If you like the diver motif, another idea would be an internal rotating bezel like the JLC Polaris, or something completely different like a Nomos Ahoi.

·

Welcome to posting in the Crunch. Your collection is wonderful, whether complete or growing. Well done.

Haha yeah only after the purchase of Aqua Terra did I realize it’s a GADA watch. Definitely wanted a diver as my second watch so went with the Tudor. I find the bezel useful to time my hour lunch during work lol (desk diving?). I definitely thought about a chronograph but I don’t think I’ll find myself using the feature too often but gmt is definitely something to consider!

Haha actually I do have a 5600 I just keep it out in the open and not in my “collections” box. Usually gets wrist time when I’m out doing things where the watch might take a beating.

Honestly I would add a g shock square, sla good field or sports watch and then just move on to a Rolex. You can be done or move on to more top tier shit I can only dream about.

Then your collection is complete! 😆

No worries the top tier shit you dream about I too dream about lol 😂

Excellent trio. Thanks for sharing.

It’s you box and your rules. Buy whatever speaks to you.

Here’s my input for what it’s worth.

I’d get either a Chronograph maybe a speedmaster. It appears you like Omega.

Or maybe green Cartier Santos with a green dial. It’s a solid all round watch.

You have a collection going. Good luck.

·

You got it all my man. Nice job.

I’ve definitely considered a Cartier santos but every picture that I see it’s scratched.. leads me to believe it is very easily scratchable and I couldn’t live with that 😂

I’ve noticed that too. But they’re cool looking. Maybe try Brew. If you like the square look.

Killer set, thanks for sharing

Looks like dive watches’ your thing! Perhaps to make the journey more interesting, get to know the history of some of these watches and perhaps get a watch from a different year? Seiko has a rich history based on the 62MAS reissue that you’ve got and perhaps you can build your ‘collection’ based on that? All 3 brands have very good looking vintage watches if that can be your journey.

Welcome to Watch Crunch and Enjoy! You have a great collection! The Grand Seiko SBGW283 will give you a beautiful dress piece. As mentioned in this thread a GMT (trendy right now but I've owned my Explorer II for 25 years and love it) or Chronograph would add different complications to the collection. A Speedie is cool but how about a Zenith or IWC? Maybe a field watch? Field meets pilots watch = Longines Spirit? I read Rolex somewhere in this thread... ok. Since you like Omega why not a Planet Ocean 600m instead? Or a SeaQ? Not Omega but a damned awesome diver! Sinn has many pieces =:divers, pilot, field, Titanium. You know Grand Seiko crushes Titanium. I could go on and on. The Longines Spirit is where I would look first because it checks that first Pilot yet field watch & there are dial color way options and even Titanium. Honorable mention in my ramble is the Pelegos : Titanium, lots of size and dial options. The 39mm has a t fit clasp and great bracelet.

Nice impulse buy if your gonna do an impulse buy :)

·

Welcome. You have made some solid choices so far. I trust you will keep making good choices.

·

Very nice collection! The only watch I would add is a flieger.

·

That is an impressive collection in itself. I'm a Seiko guy and your Grand Seiko pick is a beautiful piece. The Aqua Terra is a nice pick as well, but one AT can do it all so it might clutter the watchbox a bit. Since you mentioned you have a G-Shock (and one can never have too many Gs!) personally I would go chronograph, or GMT depending on your preference. Maybe even a Tudor BB36 or 39 to compliment the BB58, then add a Speedmaster to compliment the AT, the Grand Seiko compliments the Seiko diver, and as you said the 5600 stays ready as your beater. Just my two cents, but with what you have now I'm sure whatever you add will end up as one damn fine collection!

·

What a great collection! Very nice!

·

Welcome, your second mistake was to get a watch case with more slots than the number of watches you currently own. You're now probably inflicted with the "must fill watch case" disease and having a hard time sleeping, spending too much time online/instagram trying desperately to fill the gap...Its alrite, weve all been there. To answer your question, how about a Rolex Oyster Perpetual in a colour not represented?

·

That seiko is very cool along with the other two. The thing about the AT is that there’s so many colors to choose from you can make it a GADA or pick one of the niche color ways and you’d still be fine
