I think I like the design and the subtle colors, but I'm usually not a fan of monochromatic designs. Plus $7,400 seems a little steep for a 42mm Carrera.

I like the design but it looks like an occasional summer watch.  So if it's a new release it seems like the wrong time of year but for me it would be too much to drop on an occasional watch.

·

design wise it is cool, but i agree that the price is a bit steep for an occasional wear piece

It’s a cool watch, but I think it falls under my “homage” rule. I don’t wear homage watches because I don’t want to explain about homages and that it’s not French for “fake”. By the same token, I don’t want to explain to people that I don’t own a 911 and wasn’t trying to fool anyone, I just liked the watch.  I can’t stand the idea of some dipshit listening to my spiel like

Looks nice. Tell the people at TAG to sell most of them in the middle east, and East/Asia Pacific. The summer vibe would be perfect.

·

I love everything about it, except the price of course.

Cool looking watch, but the branded strap and logo have to go. No one wants to be the person at any car show with branded apparel. “Oh man, cool Ferrari jacket, T-shirt, and hat, which Ferrari is yours?” Inevitably it ends up not being a Ferrari, but it is some how sadder when it is.

I like the look of the white/blue color way, but I agree that I don’t do homage watches unless I have a direct connection to the brand. I‘ve been given watches that match two of my cars, and though nice pieces, they still don’t get a lot of wrist time. I know Porsche design is well known, but this is clearly a Carrera homage. So, not my car, not my watch. It is ’only’ 42mm, which is fine for a modern chronograph, but looks like it wears big on the model’s wrist in the publicity shots and the NATO strap looks stiff. There was one shot with a perforated leather band, that looked good. So, if I did have a Carrera, maybe the white one with the leather band. Interesting watch!

Looks like a cool watch. The collaboration doesn't really excite me, but I like the color ways. I won't be owning either anytime soon, other watches I prefer, and even other Tag Heuers I would prefer.

·

I guess I’ll be a contrarian here - not a fan of the colors and it feels all together an uninspired and boring watch. Only my opinion, not here to yuck your yum but this one is a strong pass.

I own this watch in blue. I've never owned a Porsche though...maybe one day! I was able to see the watch a while before the launch and fell in love. From a technical perspective I've admired the Heuer 02 for a while and have been eager to add the right chrono to my collection. The base models are nice but a touch too dressy for what I was after. I also wanted something with a bit of its own character.

Enter the Carrera RS 2.7 with its sportier, playful vibe. I live in a warm climate near the beach where these aesthetics really work (well, I think so!). I respect what the Porsche brand stands for, its history and status among enthusiasts, and don't mind sharing some of that on my wrist - even if ownership eludes me. Perhaps that makes me a tool in the eyes of some, but having known that in advance and still proceeding with the purchase I guess I'm ok with it!

It's only been a week, but wearing it has been a pleasure so far. The NATO strap is incredible and not stiff at all like someone mentioned. Very comfortable.
