I recommend the Uncle Seiko waffle strap. It’s light and flexible for a rubber strap and just looks right on a diver.
I would agree, I’ve tried to like nato’s but just don’t like all the extra material under the watch. Although Marathons ballistic nylon is a good single pass option. I would put that SPB on a uncle seiko waffle strap, so comfy. But that’s just me.
Scurfa they make some pretty awesome divers at a reasonable price, and the owner is a North sea diver. Pictured is the Diver One in titanium with the black proto dial it has a Rhonda quartz movement.
I was on USS Russell DDG-59 (original crew plankowner), USS Ingraham FFG-61, USS McCampbell DDG-85, USS Shoup DDG-86, USS Ramage DDG-61. I also did a tour at the Hovercraft’s. I was stationed in Pearl Harbor, Everett Washington, San Diego, Camp Pendleton California , Yokosuka Japan, and Norfolk Virginia. It’s funny I retired to Oregon but I’m about a mile away from the Columbia river.
When I was in the navy I was a gas turbine (jet engine in a ship) mechanic, and I retired at the rank of Chief Petty Officer, so Turbinechief.
