AnOrdain purchase........
So around 6 weeks after receiving notification from AnOrdain that it was time to order my watch from them, today was the day I had to decide.
My decision in the end came down to 2 factors, financial & how would the watch fit into my existing collection. I had fully intended on buying the Model 3 Lichen dial;
In recent weeks however, my mother's health took a turn for the worst & in need of surgery myself & other family members have had to contribute towards the cost of non-urgent (in the eyes of the NHS) surgery. This has left me with no option but to forget purchasing the Model 3, it's just too much money.
Turning to the Model 1, I was drawn to the blue & green fume dials. Putting the sensible head on though, I have multiple green dials & a similar in number of blue dials. Buying either of these colours just doesn't make sense.
So in the end sensibilities prevailed & I have opted for the Model 2 white dial. I do not have a white dial watch in my collection. I have a number of off white, champagne, silver dials but not a pure & simple white.
Far from it being my first choice, it's the right choice for me at this time. I'm really looking forward to receiving it next month 😀

The enamel dials for the Fabrik & the precious metals Model 1s are/were made by Cador in Germany. The Model 2 dials are made in Glasgow, which I witnessed when I visited their workshop in February.

You know there’s a lot to be said for simplicity, and I think that this watch achieves that. I’m obviously sorry to hear about the family health problems, but I think in the end, this one might have more “staying power” because of it’s straightforwardness

I’ve seen the range in person, and despite the fume option being very striking and unique, I felt my first choice would be this model 2 in white. It’s beautiful, subtle, versatile and the details are all still very unique. I think this is the right long-term option. Hope you enjoy it!
