The Flighty aka sna411

Donned the Flight Master today. Despite glowing endorsements from numerous sources I resisted purchasing this watch for a long time. One it's quartz which is not my preference (one to many battery failures at bad times). Secondly I typically don't like busy dials.

However, I had the, "I need a new watch", itch and found this one on sale for a very reasonable price. Surprisingly I love it.

The case size is pretty much perfect for me, I like having all the functions at my disposal (okay I use maybe 3 of them to be honest), and it just looks really sharp for the price. I even like the bracelet. Not a high quality bracelet by any means, pins not screws, and press clasp that it's weirdly smaller than the bracelet. However, the bracelet is extremely comfortable on my wrist which when push comes to shove is all I care about.

The Flightmaster! This watch is the business for sure. I recently caught the The Time Teller finally reviewing this guy on his YT channel. I think its the splash of yellow that gets me every time - just gives this piece that incredibly sporty look. A classic for sure. While it looks good on a bracelet, I think it would look incredible on a black sailcloth strap. Thanks for sharing!

To the rabbit hole! I've owned a couple from Barton which worked out great but heard Artem makes a really nice sailcloth as well (at least according to Jason Heaton/The Grey Nato). Always nice to have options to change up the look!

That's a classic!

Quartz is a wonderful technology, particularly with the increased development of solar. Not sure why it's poo-pooed broadly?

Remember earth time is based on the Sun. I think solar tech is going to become the norm with quartz-like hacking is too mechanical.

There are some traffic videos on youtube that talk about its innovation. Remember they were highly esteemed quartz in the 80s... really hurt the Swiss manufacturing economy.

They're some wonderful quartz watches in the market. Glad to see you've embraced the Flighty 👍

I love my flighty too! Yes its busy yes it’s quartz but it is awesome!  Even fits my dinky 6.5 inch wrist perfect

·

I'm a big fan of it, even the polished centre links work for me.

Beautiful purchase! Put it on a leather flighty strap with yellow or white sawing and it will be gorgeous!!!

Agreed, this is a watch that screams for a rustic/vintage leather strap.

Today is my first day with the sna411 as well! I didn’t like the bracelet, felt fine just didn’t like it, put on leather straps. I as well avoided this piece, mostly wear mechanicals and automatics. But I do like the feel and look so far……

Here is the picture of my 4 days old Flighty. I replaced the bracelet to the James Bond Nato. I am really enjoying this watch so far despite all other watches in my collection are mechanical.(Image failed to load!)(Image failed to load!)

Have owned a couple of different models of the Flightmaster. Bracelet is fantastic, especially at the price and it really is a strap monster. Sailcloth goes perfectly well with it.

I've been giving some thought to picking up the quartz Tissot PRX. My hesitance is mainly with the integrated bracelet more so than the quartz movement. The other quartz on my radar is the Scurfa Diver One.

Pretty sure if memory serves me correct the Flighty is Hardlex.

Seiko hardlex is awesome... never had an issue with mine.  The question was for the orange diver?

I just picked up a Flightmaster today as well. Been contemplating one since seeing one advertised for sale a few months ago on a local forum. It was still available, so that itch has been scratched. Not sure how much wrist time it will get, but I was able to pick it up cheaply enough that I'm not concerned.

I’ve had a few of these, I didn’t like the bracelet and the 21mm lug width didn’t exactly help, it did give me a penchant for yellow handed watches and this is in the post as we speak, 2nd time around and same price as well. Precista PRS-17C quite rare.
