I have a Gshock DW6500BB (my first introduction to the watch world), I purchased a modded Seiko Submariner later and than a Seiko SNX79. I am now looking at maybe getting a Seiko 5 GMT, or potentially waiting until I finished my Masters degree and use that wonderful Grad job salary to get mu current grail, a Tudor BlackBay 58.
I only have Japanese watches at the moment and am clearly a fan, but entering the world of Swiss horology has always been a goal
Kanji for sure, adds a special uniqueness + you get to learn some Japanese and you should already have an idea of what day of the week it is anyway, Kanji all the way
It depends on the model and how the cyclops eye was actually placed on the crystal
If the cyclops is to close to the outer edge of the dial it will cover and skew the minute indices (usually 14, 15 and 16).
But what is more frustrating is it tarnishes the legibility of the date window from certain angles (see the original photo I posted as an example) - which isn't a problem if you always look at your watch head on I guess, but can be an aesthetic issue for some
