GShock Legibility - negative vs positive LCD

Here I am gauging the different angles of my G-shock DW5600BB and G-Shock 5600E to compare the legibility of a negative LCD screen vs a positive LCD screen.

I must say I’ve always loved and appreciated the stealth aspect of the DW5600BB but the lack of legibility at certain angles and in certain lights makes it a pain. Regardless, I will always love both.

Which team are you on?

Positive!

What a mighty collection!

All G-Shocks struggle when they aren’t straight on, but work quite well when viewed directly.

The higher end you go, the better the off line legibility.

I always prefer a positive display, whether it be on a quartz watch, an eReader, or anything else. I recently picked up a Seiko with an EPD display, which gives the option to have either a positive or negative display - I find the positive display MUCH easier to read at a quick glance.

Negative is harder to read but look way better in my opinion

Negative. They just don't have that cheap digital watch feel to them.

·

Negative bc their badass.

I have the BB, I love the negative display. I’m not going to pretend it’s easier to read but I love the look. Team Negative for me 👍

·

I’ve team negative on my DW5600…. but only because I have multiple G-Shock’s. If I only had one, I’d have to go positive. 😂

·

I've always been team negative but after 13 years of owning this watch, I have to admit my eyes aren't as good as they used to be and it is getting harder to read at a glance

Negative display for the win. The only way I’d go

Awesome 💯 collection 😁😺

I like my #gshock GBD 200 with negetive display. But your angles are putting me in doubts about it. 😁🤔

Gotta go with the original one
