I've never had a watch with a cyclops eye. Are they that annoying that people don't want them?
It depends on the model and how the cyclops eye was actually placed on the crystal
If the cyclops is to close to the outer edge of the dial it will cover and skew the minute indices (usually 14, 15 and 16).
But what is more frustrating is it tarnishes the legibility of the date window from certain angles (see the original photo I posted as an example) - which isn't a problem if you always look at your watch head on I guess, but can be an aesthetic issue for some

I don't know the best way to remove it , but I think the easiest is replacing the crystal ....
You can do it
mechanically https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZV0AYEl2S4
thermally https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ycgh7GM8kMc
I've thinking about remove my cyclops but maybe in future. On SSK it looks pretty good and don't annoying too much.

Good point! I have heard many people are already swapping out the hardlex, I wonder what they look like without the cyclops

I found an image of an SSK003 without the eye, looks interesting but a little naked? Maybe the cyclops stays..

Looks like mod, bezel is not originally from SSK. May be from Marine Master

Good eye! I was too distracted by the dial to notice
Thanks
You can with some heat from a small butane torch, but I wouldn't do that with a hardlex.
But, the cyclops looks good on this GMT model in particular. It gives an overall nice visual effect.
