Matching Watch/Strap Color With The Clothes You Are Wearing

Morning Crunchers! So, a thought has been hovering above my head like a bunch of vultures over a fresh lion kill.

I have some watches that have a black dial and a stainless/titanium band. On the other hand, I have watches that have multicolor dials and multi colors NATO straps to match.

Now, with that being said, do you match your watch to whatever outfit you are wearing or just slap on whatever you feel like that day? Notice that I am not talking about a nice three piece suit with a Casio Mudmaster. That's a discussion for another day.

Sound off in the comments😎

Have a great and safe day!

I tend to hedge my bets. Something that goes with what I'm wearing, but also something that I want to wear that day.

Which leads to the next, obvious question - do I make my clothes choices after my watch choice or vice versa? Depends on the occasion. For formal or business occasions, then wardrobe comes first. Else, I'm slapping on the next thing in the watch box!

Today I will match my watchstrap to my tie. I don't always do that, but some days I do.

I wear very plain clothing, mostly black, although I have some blue, red and white shirts as well. However, that is usually covered by a black or grey hoodie, so ultimately I just pretty much wear black.

Most of my watches are also black, but I also have some colourful ones (aqua Escapement Time, blue timex, gold Certina and a green Q&Q) and my white Nomos. Also my blue Helm will supposedly arrive today.

Due to how I dress, there isn't much matching to be done.

I do consider what I'm wearing when I grab my watch for the day. I'm just old-school about that. Easiest example is if I want to wear a watch with leather band it will be a black band if my shoes and belt are black, brown band if my shoes and belt are brown. NATO straps I will switch out to compliment other clothing colors I have on. I just think it shows you've put a bit of thought into your appearance and projects to others that if you take the little things seriously, you're likely a more serious person to deal with. People do notice things like that, even if it's fairly unconsciously.

I match my strap to my watch and the mood I am in. I also mind the watch I wear for the things Ill be doing throughout the day. Matching the strap to my attire is one bridge too far for me I guess 😉

Yeah, I'm going for the "little boy blue" look today 🤣🤣

Matching is for girls! Complement or coordinate. I don't do colored dials and this risks looking too try-hard when outside of conventional colors. Straps, sure. Of course sometimes the strap is a stand-alone accent item instead. It's all about how I feel that day.

We literally posted the same thing at the same time. Are you my long lost twin? 😂

Also, watch first or watch that matches everything.

·

I don’t try and match persay but definitely I always compliment. Outside of formal occasions I find being too matchy matchy feels a bit cliche.

Either way, having a watch that goes with my outfit is more important to me than wearing my ‘best’. Most people(particularly women) you meet don’t care about what your watch is but if it goes with what you’re wearing.

·

I think about the entire outfit in my head starting with the shirt, then I look at my collection and determinen the best fit then go from there

·

I definitely match my clothes with the watch im wearing.

·

i choose chaos. When nothing matches or coordinates, my universe is at peace. JK, i think about it rarely, but i guess it’s nice to have complimentary accessories.

Either metal or a dark olive strap match literally everything and are what I wear casually. If I’m feeling fancy I’ll match the strap to my belt or shoes.
