Any thoughts on Dan Henry?

Hey watch crunch fam.

Been eyeing different pandas with a budget of $300ish. I really like this Dan Henry 1962.

Anyone thoughts on Dan Henry watches?

Does anyone have one and can give me their review?

Also, what other similar watches do you all know of with this look and in this price range?

They’re a good affordable brand. I had the 1970 and it worked pretty well.

I love mine, it definitely has a slightly higher level of refinement than most watches at it’s price.

I have a 1964 tricompax and it's excellent. It's got a vintage look with a modern movement I was looking for. It wears really well and the domed crystal gives off great reflections.

Not a fan personally but I see why people like them

·

They make (mostly) quartz homage watches; which, apparently, is fine as long as people don’t recognise the watch being copied

I have the blue dial 1962 variant. I concur with @SpecKTator that they’re vintage vibe with modern guts. None is really direct homage to my eye as each seems to hint toward multiple references. 1962 has its Speedmaster touches, but smaller size and colorful details make it its own. Full disclosure: it doesn’t hurt that 1962 is my birth year. Solid watch and even a bit more strap monster than I expected. I recommend it.

I have the black gilt version on a two tone bracelet.

As well as the 1963 Pilot and 1964 GT chronographs. Well made pieces that give ordinary folks like me the opportunity to experience the look of vintage classics that we wouldn't otherwise be able to afford. I can wholeheartedly endorse the DH line!

Was gonna give you and @NotThatNeil and I believe @Catskinner a shout out.

Ah yes, the DH 1962. Well the newer version is by far more legible than my original, mainly due to the red chrono hands, but I think that everything that I posted here is true for this version as well:

The Universal Genève for the rest of us

$300 for a vk63 watch. You can buy those for $50 or less all day long.
