Getting closer, but need some other opinions

Ok, I know this is a common request but I have been narrowing down my watch choices for a purchase this year. I boiled it down to essentially 2 brands and 4 watches that, after 2 years of searching, I keep coming back to the same ones that I can afford around $5,500 give or take $500). My preference is a blue face and 41MM but the choices all appeal to me. Want to poll the audience on your thoughts as well.

300 Heritage is my fave of the 4 listed. Just such a nice design

You really can't make a bad decision from the group.

Have you tried them all on? If not, find a Watches of Switzerland or an AD that carries them and try them on before deciding.

My guess is that once you have them on wrist, it will be an easy decision.

·

For a plain versatile piece, Black Bay. If you want to let your hair down, SMP diver.

·

B - need the Heritage in my life as well.

·

FXD for sure. Looks the most unique and purpose built. Ridiculously light on the wrist for it's size too

·

Hard to choose, but it depends on what you’re going for. the Omega (at least the SM Pro Diver 300m) is a much flashier watch with a lot more wrist presence than either Tudor. Polished ceramic dial and bezel and even parts of the case, and the AR coating on the domed crystal is outstanding. The Tudors are mostly matte finish and more subdued. The Pelagos is definitely more of a tool watch. I have and love both, but if I had to choose one, it would be the Omega SM Pro.

·

I would go A if you like having a date on your watch and C if you dont like date windows. Just my suggestion of course. ☺️

·

I love all of the watches. But the 300 Heritage is nearly perfect in my eyes.

·

I went in to buy a Omega Seamaster Diver 300m and left with the Heritage. Never a single regret. Refined, understated, and not very common.

I would choose the SM 300. It has Jame Bond written all over it.

this is super easy. when the list is narrowed down this far, you should definitely stop pixel peeping behind a screen and go to an AD.

it's the best way to make the decision as these 4 are all very different in person.

  • SM Pro is probably the blingiest of the 4, given the blue wave dial, the dynamism of the case and areas that are polished vs not, and the size. it's hefty, it's robust, and it's an over-engineered spec monster compared to most people's daily life.

  • the Tudor BB41 monochrome has a flashy bracelet, but the rest of the watch is all no-nonsense. it's a great one-watch or great as a 'default' option, but the simplicity of the monochrome dial and slab case is what makes or breaks it for you.

  • the heritage 300M is a great watch, pretty unique. but it emulates the vintage style with cut out indices and will be decidedly less dressier than the two. also surprisingly chunky but still wears well.

  • Pelagos FXD is the most tool-oriented watch of the 4, and on Titanium and NATO you'll quickly know if it's what you want to

This is excellent advice and a very precise description. Although their are from only two different brands they are very different in style, so you need to try them on in the real life. Although it doesn’t necessarily make your decision easier, as you might want all of them. They also look different with the stickers on, keep that in mind.

I tried both of the omegas and the Tudor FXD.

Let us definitely know which one you bought!!

C, B, D, -.

SMP is never on the table for me so I won’t rank it even in last place. LOL

·

I know people like to level up Tudor to Omega status but…no.

·

300 heritage for me… it’s the one I like the most there

·

My choice would be either A or C. I have the 300 pro and love it and I think the new BB monochrome looks awesome.

I really want the Omega seamaster again, but an older version, I voted for that even though I have just bought the black version FXD 🤦🏼‍♂️

·

A for me, absolutely love this watch, I’ve had 2 of the 2000s models and I’ll buy one again someday

·

Definitely go omega, either one is awesome

·

Tudor not even close to omega quality

·

SM300 Heritage any day of the week for me. Beautiful design.

·

All great choices. A or C would be my choice.

·

Got the 300 heritage, previous model. Had it a few years, been wearing it for last couple of weeks. Very very tough, very accurate. Doesn't stand out too much.

Tudor just aren't at the same level as Omega.

·

Tudor Black Black Bay or one of Seamasters.

·

FXD only makes sense if you are not looking for versatility and only want to wear a watch on a NATO. To me it makes no sense for 99.9% of people.

·

Heritage blue

The black marine edition fxd😉

·

Thanks everyone! So far the polling is aligning with my original view as well. Already reached out to my AD to find a time to try them on side by side (except the Tudor that is not physically at the store).

·

I have both brands but if I had to make a choice for a 'one' watch..It would be the Omega SMP....JMO

Thanks and there in lies several questions…which brand, which watch from the brand and then do I stop at just one (over time of course)…🐇🕳️
