‘The nights seem long, but the years fly by’ is what we were told when expecting our first. Now he’s about to start secondary school. 11 years. Whoosh! Done!
Lovely watch btw. Been looking at these myself. That pop of blue is quite special and really distinctive. 👍🏼
Seriously - if you’re UK based and in the market for one, eBay is fine but checkout https://www.steeldiveuk.com/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI7v75w_K7gAMVf4lQBh37sAV6EAAYASAAEgKhXPD_BwE
Goodness me! What a deep and thought provoking questions!!
First thoughts are with your mother-in-law, who sounds like an amazing lady to have adapted the way she has.
Personally speaking, if my eyesight were to fail, I’m thinking my watch collection would be pretty low down the list of things to think about.
Don’t get me wrong, I love all my watches but I suspect my focus (for want if a better word!) may shift. As a huge music fan and a guitar player, I suspect I might lean more into that. Some of the more recent watches would probably make way for new music based gear. But…
The older watches, the ones that have more sentimental value, like the dress watch I went shopping for with my mum and nan for my 18th… decades ago… even though they haven’t seen any wrist time in many years… those would stay. Just holding those in hand mean so much.
Nice piece of writing @pay2huynh . I always felt a bit ‘meh’ about NATOs but have come to appreciate them, probably out of respect for their historical use in the military more than anything else. Nor have I been a particularly big dive watch fan (which seems an odd thing to admit in this community I know… and I’m not a diver so never saw the point 😂) but again, as my watch journey continues, my appreciation is growing!
Thanks for the post. Really interesting.
And that Omega Spectre, on that black and grey nato… now that’s a handsome watch!
