To buy or not to buy…

I’m debating whether to splash out on the G-Shock full metal square. Don’t NEEEEED it, just really like the look of it, and despite it’s blinginess, I suspect I might wear it quite a bit.
I added a 3rd party case and bracelet to my 2100…
…And that certainly has some wrist presence, but I find that comes out to play very rarely - to the point that I might put the original strap back on just so I’d wear it more.
What’s the collective opinion on the full metal square?

I think you need to try it on. Comfort is important and these aren't super light. and they don't always fit well.
Or maybe get a regular plastic one plus a titanium replacement strap and bezel from China. Should be around 40% lighter.
Or maybe stick to plastic. The gbd200 has much softer straps and it's super comfy.
Lightweight too. Great screen and full of features.
The original metal case from G-Shock is far more comfortable than the 3rd party case

I've got the metal square and it's really cool, it is a lump of a thing, very blingy and you know you're wearing it but it's a great watch.
I can't help but wish it had the brushed steel aesthetic of a tool watch instead of this shiny cheap aluminum look in pictures... Not for me.

The full metal G-shocks are built like a tank and you will definitely feel the presence on your wrist. Also, the bracelet is very comfortable, articulates well and very nicely finished. There is the full-metal Casioak in silver too which is slightly less bling than the square variant.
Try it on if possible, I had to pry it off my wrist when I got to try it on, it's super cool. It's definitely a statement piece!
I own one. The one thing I would mention is that the first set of links don’t articulate, so there can be a bit of overhang. Otherwise, the bracelet is very easy to size and it wears comfortably.
