Who amidst you Crunchers is willing to experiment with ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ณ horology?

Are Chinese โŒš manufacturers making time pieces worth consideration for your collection?

For me the problem is,that theyโ€™re not really serviceable. I rather buy a watch for a few bucks more with a Myota/ETA/Sellita movement which is highly serviceable at my local watchmaker.

Although I often like the looks of watches with Chinese movements in them, itโ€™s just not worth it for me.

Absolutely not! Not one dime for that communist crap!๐Ÿ‘Ž

I havenโ€™t seen anything exciting or at a level of quality I would consider. And I am not interested in homage watches either. But I can understand the people who like San Martin watches or sugess.

To be honest, my answer is both A and B. Iโ€™d try themโ€ฆ Itโ€™s all for fun. Why not?

Iโ€™ve purchased 1 Chinese watch and one micro with a Chinese movement.

The bracelet on the Chinese watch is so poorly finished it literally cut my arm.

The micro with the Chinese movement has the worst accuracy in my collection and that includes unserviced vintage watches.

My votes would be C, A, and D

I promise you when you look at the PRCโ€™s economy, the only thing red about China are the flags.

The main issue I have with these is quality control and of manufacture, and availability of parts. If those areas are cleaned up, then I think these would be good value propositions.

I have several, my Steeldive with the Nh35 keeps time to about 2 seconds a day.
