I feel Baltic will go to Final 4 and likely to the Championship round 🤔

I’m a fan of Baltic, not necessarily a super fan, but a fan nonetheless.

Regardless, looking at the “popular” votes, they seem quite unstoppable.

I think you may be right. I think Monta may go the distance too, and Traska may be the sleeper.

This model is so nice

Such a perfect brown.

Ya thinking Monta also, and looking forward how Traska does next round. Can’t count Lorier out either.

·

It’s gotta be Lorier!!!

·

I have Baltic and Lorier for the championship. That said, I have Lorier with the upset victory lol

·

Right now I’m thinking Kurono might win it but I also though Studio U was a shoe-in for 1st so I might be wrong 😂

I adore Lorier, but I think the acrylic (better or for worse) will handicap them at some stage soon in the tournament. Would be happy to be proven wrong 🤪

I guess it ain’t over until the fat lady sings ✌️and I’m no betting man 🫡

I'm hoping to see a head-to-head with Baltic and Nivada Grenchen...

That would be a great match-up.

I believe it's coming in the next round.

I'm a fan of both brands, and the winner of this next round will likely be the overall champion...either Baltic or NG...

They are definitely about to come to a clash 🥳

Based on those pics, I feel like NG should win, but I’m just not sure they can stop the 🇫🇷 onslaught.

·

Is it just me or all the watch brands youre terrific touched is winning their respective polls lol

·

I feel like Baltic are the French CW? They may win this year and they do good stuff. Perhaps they are big enough to then no longer be considered a microbrand?

·

The results certainly point towards Baltic winning but maybe they’ve had ‘favourable’ matchups. That being said, I think it can be considered a suprise that they’ve not won the tournament thus far. I do regard them among the ‘poster childs’ of the microbrand movement

·

I agree out of this field Baltic is a good bet for final four. I wonder how CW would do if thy were in this field.

To a degree. Has ballet made any of their own movements yet? If cw didn’t make the bel canto or 12 I would agree they would be on par. I think those two time prices would put CW over the edge.

Yes I don't disagree. CW certainly a tier up from Baltic as they stand in terms if innovation and creativity. I've no idea about production or sales numbers but I reckon Baltic must be amongst the bigger boys in the mucrobrand world.

This tournament will always have mismatches. One if my favourites, Circula, lost out big time to Baltic this year which was a shame. Despite their superior watches in my opinion. But the small fish don't have the fan base.

Agreed, I don’t think Baltic has faced any seriously tough/popular competition yet. And I don’t think they will next round (elite 8) either.

@Guvnor64 & @Morgy29407

There’s a few brands this year that doesn’t feel like they are “Micro” brands anymore. Granted that word is loosely defined.

And agreed, while not quite up to CW levels of “Tiering”, Baltic certainly feel way up there.

On a related point, thanks to this tournament, reviews from a few of you, and meeting the brand owner at the DC Watch show… I’m fairly certain that my next watch will be a Circula 🤝

Yep that's Cornelius! I was chatting to him for ages at a show in London last September. My group ended up buying three of his watches, two divers and a field watch.

He took the time to explain what to look for in a quality watch and was a genuine enthusiast. Subsequently I'm a big Circula fan.

Because they are relatively small they won't beat the early rounds of the tournament for a while yet!

Honestly wish I’ve talked to him more in hindsight, but hopefully at DC Watch show 2025 🫡

The Microbrand sector is geared towards the 'enthusiasts'. Those that do well seem to find those little niches in the market which have been ignored/neglected/unidentified by the bigger watch companies. And even those that produce "a 40mm dive/field watch in steel" have found a way to compete (normally in price). Baltic have that 'perfect combination' of model collection, quality, design, price and marketing/press coverage at a time when the watch market was booming imo
