Longest you’ve waited for a watch service?

My Seamaster is in Switzerland being serviced by Omega and possibly having a bit of a vacation away from me… missing it terribly; What’s the longest you’ve waited for a watch service?

Does a Timex Expedition that’s been in a drawer for at least 5 years waiting on a battery count?

·

My last 2 watches that had to go back to Switzerland (Omega Speedy & JLC Memovox) both took 10 months for service. Once before I waited 12 months for a watch. Not nice but for a vintage watch you don't have as many choices.

·

9 mos for zenith. Then a couple more months coz they messed up the service

·

An Omega Geneve, over 18months, close to two years before I picked it up 😵‍💫 the estimate was 4 months I believe... however, it was super bad timing with the lockdown I think. They probably didn't work on anything for half that time.

·

A ‘60s Constellation and a Seamaster like the one in the OP’s picture are probably the only two Omegas I would break my no new watches rule on.

·

How much was the cost on this one and what's the reference?

·

On the positive side.. when your watch returns from service, after maybe a year.. it's like having a new Watch again

·

I think it took about 6 months for my local Omega guy to get parts and fix my vintage Seamaster.

Nightmare scenario...

·

This is a sore spot with me, 18 months and counting.

SM300 from 2014, service cost £490ish & 4 months. Well worth the wait & price 👍🏻👍🏻

It’s a process, not fun but at times unavoidable. Nobody except Jaeger LeCoultre would service my 60 year Memovox. Quite frankly, I was just happy they could take care of it.

·

18 months. The moral of that story is never put a watch in for service at the start of a pandemic!

·

My Accutron Spaceview just kept having issue, it had to go back three times before it was really wearable.

·

Maybe I should take better care with my watches but I have never taken them in for service. Don’t mind if they’re running a little fast or slow.

$700 for the complete service. I don’t have the reference # but it’s a Caliber 591 Seamaster.

So true, I’ve seen some incredible results from factory service with vintage watches!

·

Update: the estimated completion time is October this year 😔

My wife's watch is also in Switzerland 🇨🇭 but coming up on 45 weeks though so will be home soon. Gorgeous watch can see why your missing it.
