Best JDM Watches?

Hey everyone! I’m traveling to Japan this month and was curious to see if anyone had any recommendations for JDM exclusive watches under approx $700 USD I could add to my collection. Have quite a small wrist so sub 40mm width is preferred!

thanks for the help :)

I love my Kuoe Kyoto. They’re maybe in Japan. Idk if they’re truly JDM

Hey @polaris888 , first, enjoy your trip!

I can recommend these 3 JDMs that I own for years and still love them:

Citizen Nb1050 - available with different dial colors

Like @romaker I do love the Citizen. I also love the Casio Oceanus range and a few under your $700 if you fancy something solar/multiband and very well finished.

another vote for the sarx029

I have a Seiko TicTac and I love it!

There are a ton, largely older ones for me, but this is on the top of the list for modern (SBEJ005)

How about Seiko TicTac(watch retailer chain) collab or Citizen Record label?

Check OUT that Seiko. Nothing like that here (U.S.A.).

Tic Tac x Seiko collab watches is definitely worth checking out. There are plenty of versions out there but my personal fave is that tuxedo dial one.

Another recommendation is the Seiko Spirit Chronograph, their SBTR line. I owned one and it is absolutely gorgeous. pictured is my SBTR027. I can say it's a more budget friendly version of the Seiko Seitona SSC line and the Spirit is actually JDM, unlike the SSC chronos that you can find anywhere.

Other than the blue SBTR027, the other lighter blue SBTR029 was also very popular. But this SBTR line has plenty of color variations, a friend of mine owns the dark green and its also amazing.

As someone mentioned, the Citizen NB1050 and NB1060 line is superb. 38mm x 46,5 so fits your size aswell I think.

Look at the Casio Oceanus watches. Especially the T200 three-handed watches with the date complication. #oceanus

Hi sir! Welcome to WatchCrunch.

Of course, but unfortunately I have no shortcut other than that I bought the NB1050, took the bracelet from it and sold it for a smaller loss on the black Hirsch-strap you can see in the picture.

Since the model is JDM I guess you have to contact a Japanese Citizen-retailer to order the bracelet as it is, and I can image that not being very practical, but it could be worth a try if you’re willing to put in the effort.

Looking great! A lovely watch for sure. It would have been improved with better anti reflective coating, but I guess you can’t get it all (:

Cheers

/Gustaf

Thanks buddy!

That was a neat trick you pulled off there... Where did you find the NB1050 yourself?

Because of lack of AR (although there is some on the undersurface but the dome shaped crystal makes things worse) , I have stopped myself from splurging on so many watches... I have decided to not get any watch unless it has good AR coating
