Higher is better, right?

This doesn't seem within spec. It has the Seiko 4R36 movement. It’s an original Gen2 Monster. with a pretty flawless case and back. I think it was stuck in a drawer after about four wears back in 2015. I did order a new movement with a proper color date wheel. Off to the watchmakers!

Before changing the movement you could check if it is magnetised, de-magnitizing may do the trick.

I did. It did help. It went down from +680/s a day. After about 4 cycles.

Thank God for timegraphers Otherwise you might never have noticed it was almost 10 minutes fast per day.😜

·

Well you'll never be late......😁

·

Cheers, hope your watch will be as good as new when you get it back from your watchmaker. Timegraphers are nice if I could afford one. 😀

// Anyway, fella enthusiasts introduced me to the app "Watch Accuracy Meter" which uses your phone's microphone to take readings. It's pretty good for free software. It's a nice free alternative to owning a real timegrapher, I used it on my watches and it was pretty much on point. I'm saying this in case someone needs to measure their watch timing and can't afford a literal machine. //

That’s quite the snowstorm on the screen.

·

If that was a 6R35 movement I’d say it looks about average 😏

·

Just curious, did you try regulating it?

I saw how to, but I don't want to practice on this watch.

I can understand that.

On the positive side, the beat error is pretty good.

Yeah. It’s a party in there.

·

I say set it at the start of the day, stick to its timings and you have gained almost 9 minutes of free time every day. 😁

·

The way off-the-shelf Seiko time-keeping is going, this seems about right. You're just a few years ahead of the curve. Kudos.

That’s pure hairspring issues. Either a coil is sticking or maybe more. Debris in them possibly.

Could be magnetism but I’ve never seen it effect one as bad.

Fortunately I repair my own watches and this would be done in no time.

Unfortunately, I don't.

Don’t run your timegrapher on top of the washing machine while running…follow me for more tips ;)

It’s legendary.

It’s legendary.

It certainly is. Legendarily bad!

When scrolling down on the app I saw first the upper part of the photo, with the timegrapher display; and immediately thought "it has to be a Seiko".
