I bought the 38 mm version and have no regrets. I live in Europe and have noticed that a discount can often be negociated, some authorized dealers even offer 20% off all Hamilton models.

Before changing the movement you could check if it is magnetised, de-magnitizing may do the trick.

I have had watches from the 150 to 7000 USD and have realised that:

  1. I prefer the perceived value/quality above actual cost

  2. I did not wear the 7000 USD watch simply because I was afraid of scratching it

Watches are a bit like art, you decide yourself what you like and how much you are willing to pay (aka sacrifice) for it.

Right now my favourite watches is a vintage Eterna Centenaire 61 found for less than 130 USD and a Hamilton Khaki Mechanical that retails for 600 USD.

I realized that Excelsior Park made the movements themselves and these were used by several brands. Based on all the info in this thead I nailed it down to an EP40 movement.
