Style Over Practicality!

Picked up this Mido Ocean Star Decompression Worldtimer when they were first released last year as a fun summer watch.

Was instantly captivated by the cool retro style and dial colour scheme.

Half the time when I glance at it I have no idea what the time is and certainly no idea what the second time zone is!

But it always makes me smile when I’m wearing it and is a fun conversation piece also.

Wearing it today in the gloomy winter weather to cheer myself up.

Do you have any watches that you love wearing and the look and feel of, but they are not the most practical 🤔

With many modern Pilot watches are more for looks vs function.

Having had a Longines Conquest with white dial and silver hands I found that not to be as legible as I’d have liked it to be.

It is a fantastic watch, and although many categories of watches, the "fun" watch is often overlooked. Here is mine, it is a recent buy for the summer, but worn it a few times. I like it, cheap, cheerful and colourful and well out of my usual comfort zone.

I have no difficulty telling the time and I use the GMT function when I wear the watch. The decompression scales are illegible imo but I don’t intend on ever using them. I just like the color the feature adds to the dial.

Every time I post this, people would go WTF 😂

I’ve almost bought this watch a few times. I should just go ahead and do it!

This is a very fascinating piece, cause i absolutely hated it when i saw it online. A close friend of mine recently bought one and when i saw it in person and wore it for the first time i loved it. This is one of the cases where pictures don't do it justice!
