Four watch collection under $2000?

Ruger227 posted a poll (which you should go vote on) where they ask “one watch for $2000 or four watches, each $500?” I am in favor of the 4 watch collection. It got me thinking…what would my $2000, four-watch collection be? Without getting too specific, here is my initial response:

1) Hamilton Khaki Field

2) Omega Moonswatch

3) G-Shock

4) Taking recommendations!

Let me know what yours would be! Or if your collection fits this category please share pictures!

I hate to say two g shocks but I’m not sure what else I’d put in there. One black g shock for work and maybe the green Casioak for fun?

one watch.......

Missing a dress/ sports watch, so any of these would do: Tissot T-classic, Marloe Coniston, Hamilton Jazzmaster, Longines Conquest, Seiko Presage.

Recommendations:

Min Turtle

Nodus GMT

Baltic

Lorier Gemini Series II (US$499)

If I was to pick four it would be quite microbrand heavy and I’d start with a diver and I’m going with my Clemence Photic

Then on to a field watch and I’m keen to try puttar Nodus Sector Field

A nice dressy chronograph I’m going with the Studio Underdog Goofy Panda

And my one non micro my Casio GST-B400D as a beater.

That should land just under budget.

Granted I know nothing about your style preferences, wrist size or watch preferences, but for $500USD each, I’d personally go with the following: Dress, Diver, Everyday, Beater. The following list should come to just under $2000 after tax. Should leave some room for a nice strap for the Falcon and diver. Bonus points because the Falcon and Cocktail share straps:

1. Seiko Cocktail with white dial as a brown and black strap can pair this with any suit.

Image

2. Long Island SKX007 clone as a diver. Arguably better than the original. 200m WR and classic Pepsi looks. Plus the jubilee makes it even more versatile.

Image

3. Lorier Falcon as an everyday and can pair with more upscale clothing. Basic field/explorer watch. The watch you wear when you done want to think of what watch to wear. Plus it can share straps with the seiko.

4. Some sort of Solar Gshock. Need I say more?

4 watch collection from the last 18 months. Total retail was $2300, but I got them all free through work rewards points. If I have to stay under $2000, I would trade out that G-Shock for this G-Shock:

Oh, and if I were to spend $2000 on a watch, it would be this:

·

Lorier Neptune SIII

Lorier Hydra SIII

Lorier Falcon

Wolbrook Skindiver/Seiko Arnie Reissue/Helm Vanuatu (depends if you can live without digital, and let's be honest with a good set of Aeropex headphones and a smart phone you can do without a dedicated, precision run timer.)

Might have to buy one or two of these second hand to get to $2000, but totally doable:

Tool Watch:

The Serica WMB (<$600), well because it is awesome and a nicer version of the Hamilton Khaki (which should be on every list).

Image

Dive Watch

The Baltic Aquascaphe (<$600), Yes, one could insert a number of Seikos or even a Zelos here, but this is a perfect balance of looks and function.

Image

Dress Watch

Lorier Zephyr ($499), personally I would take the red or black dial, but the white is timeless and at home in every collection.

Image

Chrono

Furlan Marri Havana Salmon ($460) This was a tough one, as the Baltic Bi-Compax is a compelling offer, but Furlan Marri gets the nod.

I’ll go for 4 watches $2000 🤣🤣🤣

We all know that’s the truth! The budget goes out the window when I see something shiny!

That’s as well rounded of a collection as I’ve ever seen, regardless of price.
