Final watch for 2023, please help me decide :)

Hi Crunchers, I'm looking for my final watch for 2023. It going to be a light dial GADA watch with a bit of field watch flair to it. Size somewhere between 36mm and 40mm, bracelet, mechanical movement, budget

I'm a big Tudor fan but that Hanhart...wow!

·

My vote would be Longines. 👍

·

That was a tough choice, hovered between the Longines and hanhart for a long time.

·

Tudor and Seiko have had quality issues as reported here by members so the Longines is the clear choice.

Yeah, it is cool alright... Not a very well known watch, as far as I can see

Yeah, I get that... What did you end up going for?

Good point, I've never heard any complaints concerning Longines quality. Do you have one of their newer models?

·

The Hanhart is not something you usually see being recommended but its really different to all the usual choices.

·

I voted Janhart for the originality.

I would consider C.Ward or, if you are open to quartz, a The Citizen Chronomaster washi

Any specific reason, or you just like it more than the others?

Good point, think the CW Dune could.alsombe an option. But looks wise very similar to the Tudor I guess ...

Yeah, I do prefer original designs. The quality and price are also further plus points. Have you handled any Hanharts?

·

Final? Riiigghhttt.

·

The Hanhart is definitely the most beautiful of the set.

I have only handled the Pioneer 417ES and the Racemaster Chronograph at a watch shop in Stuttgart. They had very limited models from Hanhart. Definitely, right about the quality and price. I am definitely picking up a Hanhart 417 Flyback if I find one at a shop when I visit Germany next time.

It would be a different addition to your collection. You already seem to have plenty of Seikos and a Tudor. The Longines Spirit would be my second option.

Also, you have to go grey for the Tudor BB36 if you want the older version.

I do not know if you are aware but the Tudor model in the picture is an older model. It has an ETA movement and not the in-house movement. There is nothing wrong with the ETA but the in-house one is more refined. You can actually "feel" the difference between the ETA and the in-house when you wind the watch manually (but both movements are automatic)

Before committing, I would recommend that you look at the latest version of these Tudor watches with the jubilee bracelet. They come in 31mm, 36mm, 39mm and 41mm.

·

Tudor all day. The 36 is amazing. I’ve had my Tudor for over 2 years and have had zero issues with it.

You also have the greatest Seiko Alpinist, light blue dial.

Hah thanks! Am wearing it again today, the color is pretty cool. Am thinking of getting an Uncle Straps President Bracelet for it soon, just waiting on a compatibility message from them.

Yeah, I chose the ETA one specifically, because I consider the new one a bit more dressy. Had the blue 39mm in mind for a later date 😀

I have yet to feel the movement, though. The ETA/Sellitas are nice and solid in my eyes, but some of the in-house movements do "feel" better, I know what you mean.

You have both in you collection, right?

Voted Longines. For a GADA watch I prefer a date complication. Between Longines and Seiko it is somewhat a clear choice. 😉

Fair point, I really lie the 6 o'clock date on the Longines 👍

·

I voted Longines but I have the bb36 in blue and it's a cracker, both look fantastic.

·

All nice watches , I picked the Hanhart because of its value proposition to finish and just coolness too :) Second would be the Seiko also same reason , and Tudor third , and Longines last , I like it but I like it fourth in comparison to the other picks .

·

The Spirit 37 is a stunning piece, and it's a strap monster!

Beautiful beautiful watch, I have it in the champagne colour and I don't regret buying it at all!

I’d get the Hanhart, loads of heritage and history and definitely not a mall watch which I find attractive. Save a pile of money compared to the Longines and Tudor. Different league to the Seiko.

·

I own Longines so I voted for Longines. But Hanhart is amazing too!

Nine as I don’t like any of the watches

Sorry just not my style but if you like it go for it
