The perfect watch doesn’t exi…

Okay Crunchers, looking for watches that fit these conditions:

Price: under $2000 new or used

Watch: 36-39mm, 12mm thick max, 47mm lug to lug max, NOT black dial, NOT diver or GMT or dress.

Bracelet: needs to taper down, screw pins for links, on the fly adjustment clasp.

Monta and Traska qualify. Am I missing something?

You right. There is not perfect watch. That’s why I love my new abstract minimalist watch my wife got me, to remind me not to get lost in the shuffle of the next best thing or tweeking a watch to make it “perfect” sometime it’s better to remember that the fun of the sport is just strapping something to the wrist.

The Sector Sport just slightly misses your thickness requirements but ticks all the boxes otherwise.

Not diver, GMT, or dress? How about a chronograph? Field? I’m kind of out of immediate suggestions given the styles you’ve ruled out if you don’t want a chronograph or field.

How about the Longines Spirit 37?

·

In my short time in this hobby, I can truly say even watches that I love and own aren’t perfect. And knowing how our brains work, we will find more watches that strike our fancy.

·

Christopher ward have plenty that fit that criteria Sandhurst, Cranwell, 36mm sealander or the Dune. A Nomos club sport might just fit but is hand wind.

How about the Longines Spirit 37?

Does that have quick adjust bracelet?

I was going to suggest the solstice but I don't think it has quick adjust clasp.

Hello Mr. S. I agree! I'm looking for an abstract minimalist wife myself, one who sees the fun of merely being strapped to the wrist.

Oh, wait, I read it wrong. You were speaking about your watch. Never mind.

Duckworth Prestex then? Just look at their dressier watches.

Or Visitor.

Also, you're overthinking things too much. Like you need a GADA. If you're not overly fussy about the bracelet there's lots of choice under $2000. Take a risk.

I can't articulate what X factor Montas have, but they sure do have it.*

* That's why they call it the X factor, genius.

·

How about the CW The Twelve in 36mm? Not too dressy, not a diver and definitely not a GMT.

This watch is in my 2024 wish list.

Definitely more OP vibes with the Commuter

Yes, when we got the 2022 version that was our intent too. We wanted a 34mm blue Commuter for my wife, to resemble the 34mm blue OP we saw but they didn't have that color nor the size which now they have 😜, but now my wife preferred the black Summiteer as being more legible and we went for that one and I got the yellow one.

You are missing the +42mm for us big guys. Just like shoes, one size doesn't fit all.

Pull the trigger on any #traska. You’ll be glad you did.

Which one are you fond of? Got my eye on the Commuter.

I bought a #traskacommuter that was 36mm. I loved it, amazing watch. 36mm was too small for my wrist and my wife kept pointing that out ☹️. So I’m now looking at the new 38mm. I haven’t tried one on yet.

Just curious, rather than listing a bunch of things you didn’t want, and knowing what you did want, why did you post this question as you did? Why make other Crunchers guess when you already knew the styles you actually wanted? I think it’s a fair question.

I suppose I could’ve worded the question better. I listed the factors I knew I wanted and what I didn’t want. If there are other options besides field or pilot, I’m open to them.
