My first Swiss watch 🥳
So after enjoying many Japanese watches, I finally decided to make the leap and buy my first Swiss watch.
I tried on the Tissot PRX, Hamilton Khaki Mechanical and the Tissot Gentleman and they weren't really what I was looking for.
Two days ago I managed to find this Certina DS Podium Automatic on sale and I had to take the chance.
As a Swatch group brand I thought how bad can it be. The movement is a Powermatic 80 too and even though they may be difficult to service or whatever, it's still got an 80 hour power reserve, and that's something I've never experienced.
I'm really happy with the quality, it's obviously higher quality than any of my other watches.
The size is perfect on my 6.75 in wrist and the dial is beautiful.
I love that new watch feeling and this is like no other. Let me know what you think.

Isn't a podium like a lectern? Strange name for a fine looking watch. I like the rehaut and how the symmetrical date aperture flips the 3-6-9 orthodoxy. I'm not intentionally flexing vocubulary, nomenclature, or lexicon here, really.

I'm very happy with this and the unboxing is quite cool and different to other brands. Mine came with a travel case.

Cortina also sells them with the 2824 movement. Their styles border on vintage but you can't beat the quality. Good find

I heard they used to be done with the 2824 but I couldnt find any for sale. I would have preferred the 2824 for the 4hZ beat movement but I'm happy with the P80 anyway. Thank you!
