Happy dad's day guys. Checking off the alpinist and speedtimer off my hitlist.

Father's day treat to myself. Happy dad's day guys hope you have a good one.

Atlast, checking off the seiko alpinist off my hitlist.

Been on the fence with this one for months now. Had to decide to get this or the PRX powermatic 80 Tiffany Blue or the Seiko Stealth Speedtimer.

Just went to the AD today, when i saw the alpinist, i was smitten immediately by the dial and overall finishing, and when the AD said this was the last piece I was locked down to purchase.

Plus the added fact that it's father's day, i thought what the heck lets pull the trigger already... all of us dad's need something to commemorate all our hardwork and buying these makes the grind bearable.

Okay.... just went back from the AD (day after dad's day), and I couldn't help myself and got the black series speedtimer... I know, two watches are excessive, but I do feel I deserve it.

Congrats. Beautiful watch. Wears well with a bracelet too, although seeing your pic reminds me how perfect it looks on its original leather. Time for a change I think.

Good choice

Looks great 👍

But yeah, I thought about it but couldn't resist the contrast that the leather strap brings.

Love this watch! I was also looking at the sbp210

Hey congratulations from Glasgow

It's such a beautiful but purposeful watch , and the vintage vibe is just great , I swapped out the dark brown deployment strap as it's uncomfortable. Then used a tan kangaroo leather strap which has that real outdoors style

I always feel like wearing an Alpinist to an AD that sells more “upmarket” brands, is a test of whether the sales person is a watch person too and isn’t just making a value judgement on the price of the watch on your wrist.

·

I’m about to treat myself to something too. This is on the shortlist.

Great choice! I have been on the fence about buying this watch also. I’m also a hard working dad, so I guess I have to pull the trigger also!

I tested this theory by wearing my CasiOak and then my Vostok Amphibia on subsequent visits to AD’s. They are not watch people, lol.

The best trips are always ones where you go check out Omega or Tudor and end up geeking out about Seiko for a hour with a sales rep.

The green alpinist gotta be the best looking one from the Alpinist series

·

Beautiful watch. Eagerly awaiting the delivery of a SARB017 over the next couple of days.

·

I've put mine on a dark brown racing leather strap... perfect fit and my favourite watch...

·

Love the combination of that rich burgundy strap, green dial and gold indices! Might make matching it to some attire a bit tricky, but man on its own it is just a killer!

·

Congratulations on a beautiful watch and I’m sure a well deserved gift to yourself! Good lord I want this watch in my watch box so badly. To make it worse, I received several gift cards today… so I’ve been furiously shopping for it…

·

Okay.. I couldn't help myself. Got a speedtimer, the next day.
