Everyday black dial watch? Under 1.5k

Looking for a simple everyday black watch and really like these two options. Is the Baltic loud with the movement? Is the Christopher Ward worth the extra hundreds of dollars? What you guys think!

The Baltic and CW are likely both fine watches - having never owned either can’t attest to loudness (or lack thereof) of either. I think another viable option is the Traska Commuter which would be my pick (probably) - a little more restrained with the design imo plus comes on a bracelet.

I have the blue gilt Baltic Aquascaphe and totally love it. I can hear the rotor on occasion but it’s a non issue for me. I love the vintage modern look.

Lorier Falcon.

The waffle dial adds some subtle depth to the dial, IMO. YMMV.

Loud rotors aren’t an issue with my hearing, and Baltic makes a fine watch (have the MR01). The Traska mentioned above is a great option as well.

But I do like my CW “C36”.

Does it wear bigger than 36 suggests? 38s have looked small on me so a little worried

I have the Baltic dual crown in all black and the Sealander Elite and love both. I prefer the CW, partly for the band (gray and orange stripe).

C. Any black Hamilton Khaki.

The no AR coating on many of them hurts it for me a ton. I had one for years and never connected with it much

I highly recommend the CW C63. I've had one since they were released and have had no issues with it.

I also think the CW C65 Dune is worth a look. I have one of those as well.

Traska Summiteer and Commuter, both good options 👍 Saphire crystal, hardness coated, timeles design, and good WR. A true daily driver. Porsonally i have the Summiteer and it is just excellent and one of my favourites 😁 also its only 625-635 USD depending if you want the 36 or the 38 mm.

Since the Traskas don’t seem to click with you, I would suggest a Sinn 556. You seem to prefer the simplicity of having no numerals on the dial, so 556i would be the obvious choice. If you like a pop of colour you could go for the 556i RS with the red seconds hand.
