I have the middle one and paid full price for it. It is a steal if you can get it under 800, I wish I did. To me the dimensions wouldn’t be that noticable over the new gen. The sunburst grey is a fan favorite but in my opinion it needs the “right” lighting to actually shine, and in everyday lighting the legability takes a little hit. The new plain black would have a lot more legability I would guess. That being said, the spb143 is an icon and will probably go down as one of their bigger hits of this era. A plain black diver with a weirdly placed date might fade in a year or two when the next best thing happens. Do you want the sunburst? Get the used one and enjoy the heck out of it. Do you really want the flat black? Get ready to pay the premium.
I would honestly guess most people that have the spb143 are not going to be rushing to sell theirs to buy the new gen, and if they do it’d probably be because they wanted the blue one.
Cheers
Exactly what I did, I didn’t like the mirror primater around the case/dial and sold it for not far from what I got it for. If they ever drop a second version cleaning it up a little I might be down. The colors were awesome
Hey Cooke, I actually stumbled upon an old swiss watch this EXACTLY copies. Kinda disappointing. I forgot the name of it but was let down, thought this was more orginial. I also emailed this company a while ago and they never got back to me which for a small company isn’t the best PR. Oh well
