Vintage Watch Bug?

First real vintage pickup, and I may have finally caught the bug. This watch and everything inherent of its age and era just work.

The vibes are simply immaculate.

I pick a watch each day as a way to embody or inspire something from it. My IWC Pilot? I’m straight and to the point, legible and as purpose driven as the dial. My Speedmaster? I’m driving towards something innovative, new or a serious accomplishment like those who wore it to space and not to their office desk.

This vintage Seamaster? The size slips out of conscious thought, the dial and case dulled with experience. I wear the watch and the watch flows with me. It’s not as if my modern watches are too big for my thick wrists. It’s that modern watches of similar 34mm diameter just don’t click the same way this one does.

Maybe I’m justifying my purchases, maybe it’s just this one watch, but whatever it is I’m happy with it. Let me know if I’m crazy, my wallet will thank you.

Gorgeous looking watch, great choice. Wether it's your only one "time will tell" (and your wallet) we're all crazy, but that's a solid start in your road to 'madness'👌

Nice dial and onyx indicis. Do you know the reference?

Thanks! Want to say 166.067 but my reference game is not very strong

Simple classic watches that run forever and will always be relevant, what's not to like?

Quality & class are above fashion.

Beautiful 👏🏻👏🏻

There just seems to be something special about those simple watches from the 60/70/80 era. It’s says something that after all these years they still draw people in. I used to think it was nostalgia but young people are also drawn so it’s something else which is hard to define. Enjoy the bug.

I’ve bought 3 vintage watches in the last year. As of late, I’ve been looking at vintage stuff way more than modern pieces. It’s such a different feel and look to the watches.

that's friggin' gorgeous. I've been seriously considering buying a vintage King Seiko, but I just blew my watch budget (one of my long-sought-after watches hit Ebay and I had to grab it - posts coming soon).

Still want one, it'll just have to be down the road.....

My first vintage watch I found in my mum's attic, not been touched in more than 40 years! Gave it a wind and a shake amazingly started straight off (Swiss quality)...(only needed buffing up). Was mine when I was a kid!
