Awesome, was the titanium version available for viewing as well?

commented on IWTF? The 2023 IWC Ingenieur is priced way out of its league. ·

Does Genta heritage go for nothing nowadays? I think the price is okay given the modern Ingeniuer has its roots from Genta's own design. In this category of integrated bracelet sports warch, IMO the Ingenieur's only competitors are the AP RO, PP Nautilus, +- Octo Finissimo (please correct me if I'm wrong!). All other watches mentioned as competitors (e.g. GP Laureato, Chopard Alpine Eagle) can only claim to be homages instead of direct descendants of Genta design and are not true competitrs... I think the Ing targets those who want a watch with true Genta heritage yet without the pomp and flair associated with brands like AP and PP... I admit I am one of them and I think the price is justifiable in this regard.

I have yet to see the watches in person but have heard the finishing is great and the bracelet solid. Solid case back complements the tool watch aesthetic much better than a see through case back as well. Also as someone who has waited years for IWC to finally have better movements, I am totally ok with the in-group movement. But would definitely love to see IWC move forward on developing anti magnetic hairsprings instead of relying on the soft iron cage.

And how has no one mentioned the Grade 5 titanium Ingeniuer priced $3k above its steel counterpart? It's a no-brainer for me. How many titanium integrated bracelet watches are there in the market? 🤣 Czapek Antarctique Dark Sector, A Lange & Sohne titanium Odysseus, Zenith Defy Classic, Oris Propilot X... IWC brings something forward with its own signature and heritage in this category.

Kudo's to IWC for a great design! Can't wait to see the watches in person!!

I own the 38mm with the H-10 movement. It keeps good time and is a reliable piece, an all-round field watch with a good case design that sits well on the wrist. The pop of red at the seconds hand is mesmerising to look at, and the big crown is a joy to wind. I also like that as an entry-level watch it has a display case back which as one of my first automatic watches drew me further into this crazy watch world 😅 (despite some purists would opine that field watches should have a closed case back).

What I don't like is the lack of anti-reflective coating on the front of the crystal. Hamilton watches and this one in particular are known to be very reflective at times and it can be difficult to see the dial under certain lighting. It's also one of the reasons why I don't wear this watch to work as often as I want to. I work in a very busy and high stress setting where every second counts, and I realize that the extra time needed to look more closely at the dial due to the frequent reflections added up to be too much of a hassle. But of course this may not apply to everyone.

My partner and I have a pair of Omega Aqua Terra's as our "couple's watch". I highly recommend considering the Aqua Terra line due to the large variety of designs and reliability of the movement. It's my GADA watch and I wear it to work most of the time!

As I recall, the Omega Constellation line also has many designs in different case sizes too and is also worth checking out.

This watch (and the green one) has been on my list for a very long time, but I've never been able to see it in person and that is the main factor holding me back. Open case back and a longer power reserve would make this watch perfect. I also wish they can make more fabric strap options for the green dial!
