A Wow of a Diver!

A bit of browsing today.  Glashutte Original SeaQ.  Beautiful but very expensive.   This also can be had on a rubber strap which I think would be killer.

I considered this watch 1.5 years ago, I decided at the end to go with the JLC Polaris automatic blue.

It is a awesome diver and after the last price increase of Rolex it is not that expensive anymore because it costs now the same as the Sub ;). It looks good on the bracelet with this awesome clasp, but it is shines on the fabric strap in navy blue, thanks to the straight edge between the lugs it sits perfect at the case. The rubber is black which didn't fit well with the blue watch.

However there are a few things that I didn't like with the SeaQ. You pay a lot for movement finishing and it has no open case back. Either they finish the movement to a lower degree or they open the case back... The next thing is the blue, it looks only in bright situations good, like at your AD. Otherwise it is quite dark/blackish. And the date window, as most enthusiast I am not a fan of the date window, however it is well executed. And the last point are the white gold frames of the numerals and indexes, they are thicker than normal e.g. on a Sub or my Polaris, so they reflect the light much more and the watch is very very shine on the dial.

Thanks for educating me! I wasn't looking to buy, just had seen a couple of YouTube videos and wanted to get my paws on it.  Was really hoping to see the green dial version but it already had been sold.

the green is also nice! I like it a bit more then the blue, however the green is very special. Either you love or hate it^^

I read on the internet (so you know it just be true) that they will release it without the PCL soon. If true that would make me happy

This watch (and the green one) has been on my list for a very long time, but I've never been able to see it in person and that is the main factor holding me back. Open case back and a longer power reserve would make this watch perfect. I also wish they can make more fabric strap options for the green dial!

No display back is a disgrace on a watch of this calibre ('scuse the pun!).

My wife has this SeaQ.  It’s a great piece and IMHO worth the price difference between it and the BB58.  She has the bracelet but prefers the fabric strap which fortunately fits me as well.

I’ve got the SeaQ Pano which is a little bigger and has the display back. I love it, so much so I’ve ordered the Seventies Chrono :-)

They are great for the money👍

I tried that one on also.  Loved the display back and big date, but it was too big for my wrist.
