Looks like a monogram for JAS to me. If the U was conformed to the diamond shape, I’d expect the left side to go all the way to the top, which it clearly doesn’t.
I agree. I tried one on when I was shopping for a dress watch and even the midsize one just wore so awkwardly. I suspect the non-Duoface models might wear better but this just felt like a brick on my wrist.
In today’s dive certifications, they don’t even teach you how to use dive tables and an analog watch to time your dives. Dive computers are affordable, reliable, and accurate, and they enable safer dives for longer periods of time than you’d get with a dive watch and dive table.
I bring a dive watch with me but really, it’s just because I like wearing it. In the event that my dive computer fails, the rest of my dive is going to be dictated by my buddy’s computer and the amount of air I have remaining - not by falling back to rely on a mechanical watch.
