Dive watches "eating" my shirt cuffs. How about you?

First world problem:

The bezel with it's coin edges, not necessarily Rolex, seem to chew my shirt cuffs. Are you experiencing the same thing?

My condolences. Looks like it's time to add a dress watch to the collection! :P

·

Then I clicked on your profile. Nice collection! But sorry, I can't say I've seen the same on my shirts.

Life hack: "Dive watch equals T-shirts only".

·

Nope, don’t have this problem.

I never even considered this! I’ve never run into this but for whatever reason I don’t wear any divers with my long sleeve button down shirts.

Or just ditch the shirt all together.

·

You have to wear the watch over the jacket sleeve, that is what the diver extension is for, right?

·

A polo is the most you’ll get from me at work (even when others wear button down).

My wife got me in a suit at the wedding, ain’t nobody getting something higher 😜

·

Also mine the consequences of using sports watches such as Diver watches or similar ones

So, if I wear my 16618LB like "Agnelli-style" - I'm OK?

Wow. At least we're two.

...not anymore. We're at least two 'crunchers in this thread now.

·

Technically, a dive watch lol slides under any cuff with no chew.

If I may ask, how are you laundering your shirts?

Excess fabric softener can exacerbate the problem.

I do not have a Submariner, but ⌚ with a coin edge bezel have not torn up my cuffs as best as I can recall.

Then again, I usually roll up my cuffs.

Though, I did notice something similar on a French cuff shirt after wearing such a ⌚ .

I understand the laundry question, but as the "frill" is at the exact part of the cuff, I blame the bezel. As can be seen from the OP-image in question, the rest of the cuff lining is intact and as new.

Oh, I understand what you are asking.

The cuff's edge is going to be most vulnerable, and the coin edge bezel is going to make it worse.

I wear double cuff shirts which always have enough space for a thicker watch, or shirts with two buttons so the width can be extended. I don't think any of my shirts are standard single button cuffs.

I do too - sometimes. Here represented by the 16610LV with an original LN-insert.

That’s Moths not a Rolex! 🤣

Perfect answer!

Wouldn’t have this problem with a nice scalloped bezel… like on say an Omega SMP… just saying…

·

Yes on every left sleeve but who cares

·

With that watch, I’d happily invest in my own shirt company. 😜😜😜

I wear thinner watches with my dress shirts.

·

First World problem for sure. Maybe slip on the Patek next time you wear a shirt with cuffs?

·

I wouldn't necessarily blame the watch. All cuffs fray a bit with time.

·

Safer with inner bezel😊

·

I’ve worn a dress shirt maybe twice in my life. Hasn’t been a problem so far 😁😉

·

The solution is to keep the watch and ditch the dress shirt. 😀
