Red Dial Watches

I’ve been on the look out for a nice red dial watch.

So far I’ve leaned into the field/sport territory with the SUF Helsinki and anOrdain Red Post catching my eye, but both are relatively unattainable (availability and price).

Any suggestions on affordable alternatives? What’s your favourite red dial watch?

I just checked out Farer's Crooms II at Windup a few days ago and it's a very dynamic and eye-catching red dial. Not sure if it's your speed, but it retails at $1500 USD.

That's quite a coincidence because I too developed a yearning for a red dial watch and these were the one I considered:

Orient Kamasu: Definitively affordable but I didn't like the red hue of the dial and I still think that the pseudo heraldic logo is silly.

Image

Christopher Ward C63 LE: Nope. The dial is more brown than red and CW still can't design an appealing combination of dial and hand set even if their life depended on it.

Image

Omega Aqua Terra 150: Well...yeah...but it's the type of a watch that I like for 2KUS$ and not for 6KUS$ and it also looks too much like something that my father would wear.

Image

Nomos Ahoi: That's what I got in the end because I preferred the orange hue and the design appealed to me. I managed to get one for a good price on Chrono 24.

I'll put my mouth where my money is, and recommend the Seiko Sharp Edge! I think the negroni is also a good choice if you don't mind mineral crystal.

Retail is at $1.6k+ to $2k I think. If your AD or reseller is selling online they may have it for a little less than retail.

AnOrdain, Farer, and that lovely AT Terracotta are all awesome. I am a massive fan of red watches, but do not own enough of them. I have a couple from below, but not going to lie and say at least a couple of them are on my list (Sartory Billard, IWC, specifically).

Good call on the Nomos.  The Tetra Neomatik 39 was also high on my list!

Agreed!  That's a great list @AllTheWatches.  I find myself leaning more toward the brighter options vs the burgundy / oxblood / cherry hues.  I like the playfulness of a red watch.

oh man, the Omega -- I see that one in my searches and clench my fists above the keyboard in restraint, even though it's outside my budget.  Speaking of -- that Moser... 😍

I wish negroni had sapphire. However, I find myself enjoying the  applied numbers on the dial lots. I think I could deal with the trade off. Lol and the savings.

Negroni is my next watch. Looks amazing  right price point. Wife wont take kindly to another 1K+ in the next year. I treated myself pretty nicely this year with a 3K Longines Master. And I love the Arabic numerals on the dial. Add sapphire Crystal  and it’s perfect to me.  Not put off by the mineral. Would still acquire.
