our dog is 14 yrs old and I'm not gonna lie, I've told my boyfriend that I want part of our dog's ashes to be made into a watch crystal, hahahaha. not sure if possible just based on what this jeweler does, but someone's bound to have tried??

this Seiko has been on my watchlist too and, unfortunately, I have the same questions about it as you do (hence why I haven't been rushing to get it).
But regarding the SRPB41J1, there are models from Orient that look similar and might be less expensive but just as dressy. The SRPJ09K is also more of an everyday-watch in my opinion than the SRPB41J1, so this might affect your decision making. I hope others will comment on this.
