Impressive Filipino microbrand

I got this watch after I saw a facebook friend repost her university friend starting his own microbrand. Coincidentally, I was also really wanting to add a Philippine-made watch to my collection but couldn't decide on which to get. I'm now very thankful that I got this.

The dial is reminiscent of a Gr. Seiko SBG (ie. indices, and hands) but the distinction of course lies in their choice of using Baybayin, a pre-colonial Filipino script, for their indices. It's not quite accurate since baybayin doesn't have numbers, so what you see are instead the first syllables of the numerical words in Filipino. They've been printed on quite nicely.

The watch uses the trusty Japanese NH35A movement (24 jewels). I love that the crystal is domed sapphire, and that the crown (although bulky) is screw-down. The bracelet (which I believe is the "engineer"-type) is very comfortable. The links themselves have screwable pins: great so you adjust it at home, but without the proper tools, they tend to get loosened & jut out easily.

Overall, I love this watch. I've had it for 5+ months now & I don't have any issues with it. I think it's worth its price (242 USD), especially after seeing how much this brand's competitors price theirs. Back then, I was hoping to get their Salmon dial instead (but they're out of stock!) because this one is pretty monochromatic. So I often replace the bracelet for one of my dark brown leather straps for contrast. I'm happy I found this microbrand. It's so uniquely Filipino & definitely a stand-out in my collection.

that Worldtimer looks gorgeous, but it is admittedly a bit too busy and clunky for my tastes LOL. If you do end up getting a watch from DG&Co, I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I do mine! (it definitely won't cost as much as your Ibarra piece)
