Textured Dials
Hi! I have a thing for textured dials and I have a few of them in my collection and wanted to share them w yall.
Wise AD15 — 24k gold filled dial with what seems to be a Thai inspired design on the dial. The color changes from yellow to champagne depending on the light. It comes in a fully polished 904L steel with what seems to be a gs inspired case. The shine is wild. Just got this on my trip to BKK
Citizen NB1060 — A handmade silver leaf lacquered dial — a JDM model that I picked up on a trip to Japan last year. I put it on a dark green pebbled leather and I feel that they work well together.
Orient Star Moonphase Nebula LE — Mother of Pearl Dial w a moonphase and open heart — I've been looking for a strap, but it looks best on its oem bracelet.
Seiko King Turtle Dark Manta — I got this as a gift for Xmas a few years ago from my wife — I love the gray blue hues and the subtle manta rays and the texture that makes it look like water
GS SBGF017— The texture is very subtle but there seems to be a linear helix looking pattern on it. Paired it with a forstner BOR. I bought this off buyee and I love the 8j movement w an independent adjustable hour hand. The finishing is amazing too! A little bit beat up since it's over 20 years old, but great nonetheless.
I like value packed and unique watches and I realize that I lean towards dressier lookong GADA watches. As of Mar 2024, I've sold most of my Swiss pieces and have morw heavily leaned towards collectin...
That Wise is just beautiful! The texture reminds me of pineapple which I love!

This is so close to what I envision my collection to be one day: I already own a Wise AD773, that Citizen is No. 1 on my shortlist, a MOP dial diver (Venezianico) is next and my oldest watch (Preisig) has a subtle guilloche dial.
I love the combination of MOP and complications on your Orient Star, except that I'm not into open heart surgery.

salamat dude! I'll try to make a watch meet within the year, I've been out of thr country alot and will be gone again til mid July, but id love to attend one of these days

I tried the 773 on too! It's really nice. Honestly, I was discerning between the ad15 and ad8 (light blue) on bracelet, hut the latter wasn't available during my trip. Maybe down the line, but not a priority! Considering a traska venturer gmt and a farer resolute, but only when funds permit :)) maybe next year or if I unload a couple of other watches.
You won't be disappointed w the citizen! I actually got the bracelet od the 1050 and its a good fit. I also got a generic jubilee which goes really well w it.
The venezianico is beautiful too! I'm sure you won't regret, it's just that I have no plans on getting another MOP dial anytime soon and if I were to get another diver, it'd probs be the ad8. The OS moonphase's open heart does somewhat deter attention from the dial and complications, but its nicely finished inside and somewhat novel, so I'm cool w it :)

Beautiful dials! I think my first real texted dial will be when I enter Grand Seiko territory. Not there yet. I have one from REC with aluminium dial, a honeycomb vintage and one vintage that time took care of.

No worries. That one is a Batavi atelier. It's a Dutch micro. The dial is mesmerising. And I love the numerals being printed on the glass. The case is very interesting too. The only down side is the movement.

Not much. It's a Miyota 9039, but the rotor is loud. I'm really being picky here, the watch is amazing for the price. :)
