Would you get the datejust with smooth bezel ?

I am looking for a classy everyday watch and love silver/grey dials on a good looking bracelet. Since this does not go crazy after retail it should be possible to get brand new. Would you get it ? Or is it weird without the fluted bezel ?

N.B. I wont get the fluted bezelk anyway as I do not wear gold (traditionally men in my country do not wear gold)

To me without the fluted bezel it looks like an OP, and if you’re going for that, that’s fine

·

I dislike the fluted, so I would always go smooth.

But then, I’d go OP as I don’t like dates, or cyclopses.

·

I'd go OP, really dislike date complications.

The smooth bezel DateJust is the most easiest watch to wear in any occasion and outfit. The silver/grey dial is also easy on the eyes. The legibility of that watch will be perfect 🤙🏽 I have the vintage Rolex DateJust 1601 and love wearing it with anything 🍻👊🏽

Definitely smooth for me 😉

A Datejust looks best with the fluted/jubilee for me. Also, I absolutely love the silver dial. I would have happily taken it if it was available. I told my AD I’d take blue/green/silver whichever was ready first. Got this on as we speak -

Fluted bezels aren't for me. But neither is the wart.

·

Fluted/jubilee for a DJ. If you want smooth bezel/oyster go OP.

·

Yes, I like the smooth bezel better. In fact, remove the date complication too, because the cyclops is an ugly wart on the crystal. And please give me a more understated Oyster bracelet because all that bling isn't for me. Actually, just give me an OP. 😂

Im guilty of liking the smooth bezel, to me the fluted was too busy.

·

Smooth is more causal but go oyster and not jubilee

·

Smooth bezel on a jubilee for me works the best!

Fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet is iconic Rolex DJ.

That green is so great

Yes 100%. Probably fluted and jubilee OR smooth and oyster for me. Chopping and changing each looks a bit odd for me but the smooth/oyster combo used to look odd to me too, so who knows!

I like the subtlety of the smooth/oyster silver dial. Roman in Succession wears one in most scenes. It’s a very cool and understated way to go about a Rolex.

I used to think “but why not get a flashy or special one?” with Rolex, but this watch does a lot for me. So much to be said for simple things done well, which Rolex nails!

·

Why not? No it's not weird lol. I prefer it this way. I think it's more versatile with smooth bezel.

·

When I first got hooked on the DJ, I wanted the fluted, but now I prefer the smooth. I’m a more ‘under the radar’ kinda guy and IMO the smooth is less flashy.

·

For me, the DateJust has to be fluted and on a jubilee.
