Of course I mean watches that are from those brands under this price point. If other brands come to mind pls mention in the comments. Thank you!

I said Seiko since some citizen watches are too busy on the dial

·

Of the four listed Citizen by a wide margin. They offer standard quartz, Eco-Drive, and mechanical watches for under that price, and they don't have the QC issues Seiko does.

·

I’d add Hamilton. Many of their models are under $500 from places like Jomashop, etc..

·

Seiko offers the widest array of high quality options in sport, dress,.GADA, etc out of the options IMO.

I’m out on citizen. My father had an eco drive which only lasted 4-5 years. After trying replacing the power cell it turned out that the module itself failed. 👎Major fail.

My parents and I have had no problems with them over the years, but I can see how that would sour someone to a brand.

If push comes to shove I'd say Seiko, but realistically a case can be made for all of them and a host of others.

·

Members know me lol. I would step outside that box of 4 you listed. If you like different materials, colors and movements check out Zelos if your not familiar with them already. I've owned watches for over 40 years and found this micro brand 3 years ago. I fell in love with the brand. I own a few and love each of them. Ebay can have some good buys.

Enjoy your watches!

Cheers

Long Island Watch #longislandwatch

All 4 of those brands have great watches but Seiko has the most variety in their catalog and the best designs, IMO

·

Nodus, Zelos, and Spinnaker

When it comes to the four, it's a race between Seiko and Citizen. Baltic is a microbrand, and life's too short for those. And with Tissot, which is already an entry level luxury, when you're playing at the cheap end of something that's already entry level, it looks a bit budget; maybe even a touch try-hard? Not as try-hard as someone wearing a Moonswatch and acting like they've got an Omega, but it's in that direction. If you can't do it for real, don't do it. Which leaves Seiko and Citizen as good heritage brands, not pretending to be something they're not. And of the two, I'd go Seiko. But Citizen is also very good.

·

Yeah, and I'm ok with that. Some of us aren't interested in being part of the cool kids club in the watch community.

I have never handled or owned a Seiko that I felt was worth the cost...

Rocking my Ecodrive for nearly 20 years... Just got it back from the 1st restoration.

Citizen is a fantastic watch company and one of my favorites too.

Lorier #microtournament 2nd place, great vintage style, modern movements, good catalog.

Helm, best dollar per ounce tool watches on the market, full stop.

Elliot Brown, Holton Pro, what G Shocks want to be when they grow up.

Nodus, NodeX clasp, great diversity and color choices in the catalog, might be best made watches under that price I've ever handled.

·

Steinhart for the WIN! 😎👍 Tissot too.

Seiko just it kills by the depth of their catalog. They've got EVERYTHING covered by a wide margin.

·

B, swiss, higher beat and spec movement, saphire.

I just wish they‘d stop putting Hardlex crystals on 400$ watches…

That is why I meant only the watches of those brands that actually are under 700. You can find seiko 5 sports models and some presage models for this price point
