Rolex explorer 2 226570

I know about the watch and the heritage of it, but was just curious if it’s still a hard watch to get from an AD. An AD I know texted me earlier today that he has this watch in stock, if I want it. I do like the watch and I was talking to my friend and he says to me that my AD always calls me with Rolexes that no one wants. My buddy thinks he can walk into any AD with no purchase history and get this watch at any given moment.

Idk. I think the polar explorer is pretty hard to get. I was waitlisted and never called. If it fits your wrist (over 7 inches) go for it!

That’s what’s I thought, that it’s still hard to get from an AD. I do know though, it is one of the easier Rolexes to get compared to the sub, Daytona skydweller etc.

Not as easy as others but no the most difficult. Are you buying it? I own it and it's a favorite among favorites. Fantastic watch. Tell your friend to go ask for a blue dial Skydweller

Yes I think I am going to pull the trigger tomorrow. I asked my AD to give me till tomorrow to think about it and he said no problem

Everything is easy compared to a Daytona, GMT and Skydweller...

That is true and I’m glad I was fortunate enough to get a blue dial SS skydweller on the oyster bracelet in the beginning of January

If you can get it, have the wrist for it, and like it you are gonna be really happy. Many say it is the last true Rolex tool watch, and white is the preferred configuration. Congrats!

Thank you and yes I have a 7.25 size wrist. I do like that it does have done vintage appeal to it as well

There is no right answer. For some, they may have gotten it quicker than they ever imagined. For others, they are still waiting.

My most worn watch of 2023, but good margin. Good luck!

I stopped into an old friend’s shop to buy a pair of casual trousers, first new pair since covid-19 that wasn’t a pair of sweats. Lots of guys who either live or work in the high rent area stops to visit or for a fast free espresso coffee. One affable young man makes his own coffee before sitting down to chat, he is wearing a big shiny Navitimer. Shop owner knows that I am a Breitling supporter makes the introductions. Young guy’s family is sociable with the owners of a multi brand watch and jewelry business nearby, we are taking about in demand Rolex watches including a Daytona which he owns but never wears since he prefers bigger watches. Says he is not interested in selling but if I am keen he will make a phone call right at that moment, we can walk over if I have the time. I did not challenge his boast mostly because I did not doubt his claim and I am not in the market for a new chrono having just purchased a Zenith Chronomaster Sport a few weeks ago.

·

I’ve been waiting on one of these for over a year here in the Bay Area.

·

I think the accessibility depends where you’re located, the AD ethic or practices.

Where i am located, this piece has the level difficulty like a non date submariner and need spending history of other watches under their roof.

But if you can get it just over a text, get it.

·

Where are you? This is not easy to get my mom got it for me as she has large purchase history. Uk has closed waitlist for this lag time I was in London

What's a thread contribution without a photo?

Get it because you like it and want one. Not for any other reason

Exactly! Also,to answer the original question. Yes, they are hard to get - especially since AD's are still playing games... "Well, if you want the Polar I can probably get you one real quick but first, let me show you some jewellery for your wife..."

"Well, if you want the Polar I can probably get you one real quick but first, let me show you some jewellery for your wife..." Meanwhile one is sitting safely in a watch coffin in the safe... But remember: "Exhibition Only" still rules.

·

Put my name down for this in early December 2023 and got the call from AD early February 2024, fantastic watch, as an everyday/daily wear it's perfect!

·

Mixed bag.

Buy it if you like it.

Hype, yes and no hard to get. Obviously not that hard if you are being offered essentially out of the blue.

Buy it if you like it, not bc it is being offered. They’ll be others.

·

I love how this watch looks. Gmt is my least favorite complication but I would still do this one. I just wear a second watch. Multiple time zones solved

·

All of these mentions of "spending history" and such infuriate me and reinforce my preference for Omega. I walk in, I look, I buy. The idea that I have to develop some sort of relationship with someone to sell me a watch is just plain vile.

·

I waited 2 years to get this watch. But it was also a little harder to get a Rolex when I requested it. Don’t know why anyone wouldn’t want this watch. It’s super comfortable, a GMT and is a great daily or one watch collection.

If you like it get it - but what you like - don’t buy for the sake of purchasing a Rolex.

·

I say go over there and try it on. Nevermind people's opinions, it should come down to how YOU connect with the watch and what you feel when you put it on.

·

I think that if you get the call for this watch and you are not excited, dont buy it. If you are excited and really want it buy it, its an awesome watch.

·

See I pulled the trigger

They had this available at an AD and also a no date Sub in the back of you asked nicely. Watches are getting turned down and making it into walk in customers hands.

I passed on it yesterday when I texted my ad and then last night I was watching videos and reviews and it started to grow on me. The watch has sought of a vintage vibe to it, that I like
