Too big?

I am looking on getting a new watch in the near future. I have looked at this IWC a couple of times and I love the look of it. There at times I think it is too big and other times I think I can pull it off. I would like some other opinions on the size, just too big or right at the max of what I can pull off?

Not too big! Looks excellent, large for legibility.

Cool watch 😍👍🏻👍🏻

Honest opinion, it's a few millimeter too big judging from this photo. As the tips of the lugs extend over the width of the wrist. But most importantly, do you feel comfortable wearing it. If you think you can pull it off, go for it. It's a beautiful watch.

Watches look big when taking a photo close from that angle. Try taking a picture of your self in a mirror to get some more distance from the camera:

Yea, and the details of the watch are lost.

The IWC is fine on your wrist (on a strap)

If its on a steel bracelet, it would be a different story.

·

My personal opinion is that is a bit too big, but if you like it go ahead! It’s such a beautiful watch and Chronographs tend to be bigger

·

At the limit but looks fine to me. More importantly, what do you think?

·

Given how it looks with the wide-angle distortion at close distance, it's probably fine. Just depends on whether you want a military chrono to wear a little large or not.

Take it off the wrist and photograph the watch.

We're not really interested in your wrist. 😊

Not too big. Looks great.

I have the same watch and feel like it’s fine (but perhaps on the limit) of my 6.5” wrist. I gauge the fit on how the strap drops down to the wrist - if it’s at less than a 90 degree angle and the lugs aren’t dramatically hanging over, fair game.

I’d probably be more comfortable with a <48mm L2L, but also remember that pilot watches like these are historically supposed to run big. Legibility is the first priority. Really, if it’s comfortable and you like it, go for it!

I think it’s more important how it fits and feels than how it looks.

Next time you try it on, step away from the counter and walk around the shop with it on. Leave it on for a while while you look at other watches. After several minutes of wearing it like you would wear a watch you already own, you should have a better idea of how comfortable you are wearing it.

Awesome watch and I don’t think it looks big on you at all.

True, but you can keep the closeup for the detail. The point of the mirror shot is to show size on wrist.

Looks like a great fit. The strap definitely helps! Beautiful watch. 👍

Looks great 👌🏼

·

Nope, just fine, niceee

Looks great! But it’s all about how YOU feel!
