Looking for my next watch.

What are everyone's thoughts on the Breitling brand? I am planning on buying a new watch before the end of the year. I do not have any complications in my collections except for my G-Shock square. I was thinking of getting a Grand Seiko, Longines, or another Omega. Then this classic AVI chronograph caught my eye at my AD and really like the look of it. I always thought breitling would be too big for my wrist and this watch is to the max of what I would wear but I still think it works. If anybody has any pros or cons of owning Breitling I would love to hear them.

Really like that. I don't have a Breitling although I do have my Dad's old Breitling stopwatch.

I owned the AVI 1953 re-edition and it was awesome! But, for me personally, I found that what I cared about most was how sparkly my watches were! As such, I sold all my Swiss watches and went full Grand Seiko.

If you don’t care about sparkliness, then that is the ultimate cool pilot’s chronograph. It perfectly blends vintage styling with amazing modern movement and build quality.

Ultimately depends on what aspects you care about most! But it’s a fantastic watch!

It’s never about the brand—most of that is marketing fiction anyway—it’s about the watch on its own terms. And that’s a very cool one.

I like that a lot. Much more understated than most Breitlings as well.

I am a long time fan of Breitling but have not purchased any after Georges Kern became CEO. I was finally able to stop by my multi brand ad last week to pick up a Baume & Mercier watch that I ordered a few weeks ago and to chat about watches, he had received some Breitling watches that a few customers wanted to examine asked if there were any that interested me? I have been keen to check out a black ceramic AVI GMT watch which he will have in his shop next Tuesday, now I just need to find the dollars, haha.

The Breitling AVI, the Longines Big Eye and the Breguet type XX are the 3 grails of 50's pilot watchs. You can't go wrong with that watch.

I agree, the Breguet is out of my budget right now, but I am planning on trying on the Longines big eye in a couple of weeks to compare.
