Seiko Flight Master

I wonder how many people have been inspired by The Urban Gentry and have a Flighty on this green strechy band from NDC? My Flighty was purchased from a gentleman that retired from Northrop Grumman years ago that was presented to him as a retirement gift.

I find both the watch, and the persona off-putting.

I'm not a fan of cluttered dials or bezels, so the Flightmaster, Nighthawk, and Navitimer are all unappealing to me.

Yea I did, many years ago.

Hated it immediately and sold it very shortly after 🤣

I like the watch but not because of TGV. Don’t own it though. Three Seiko’s are enough for one collection although one is currently on the chopping block, so who knows?

I find a certain charm to the cluttered dial, and so I had picked one up a couple of years ago when I saw one on sale locally for a decent price. Never really wear it, but I find it surprisingly legible despite the clutter. The hands tend to stand out enough to allow it to be easily read with a quick glance.

If I want a cluttered dial (and I love me a cluttered dial) I look no further than the king of clutter. Citizen.

I’d like to grab one but not an Urban fan…I forget about it then someone will post a pic on a cool strap and I think…I need to pick one of those up 🙄

I can say TGV put the seed in my brain. I think it was more the price that I got mines for, less than 200. While I have a love/hate relationship with the flighty it did open the doors for pilot watches. I'm also very surprised of the lack of interest Seiko has for pilot watches. Having such a great aviation history.

I really like this one, I did saw a couple of his videos but I wanted it before I saw it, it was the bracelet that was putting me off, I've put a mn strap on it but now its paired with a watchgecko mesh bracelet, looks so much better, and that's the only "cluttered" dial I like, it has a certain charm in my opinion, plus I can swim in the bathtub with it.

Have owned the black as well as the white dial model. Just too thick

·

It's a nice watch but I already have my dad's vintage Seiko pilot so it would be duplication.

option C.

I have one, but not because of TRV. Don't get me wrong I like watching his videos from time to time. I will say, I'm not a fan of the NDC strap.

I have mine on a Milanese bracelet from Long Island watch that I saw Marc talking about on one of their TVR/Marc videos

Dude I've come so close, Bungie band and all. Think I'd pull the trigger on a used gold tone one at the end of the day.

I like the looks but cant afford one currently

·

I think it looks great and I love TGV, but I simply think it would wear too large on my wrists. The dial is super cluttered, but that's why it's so special.

I wish you had sold it to me! LOL! I want one, but it's currently not in production (AFAIK) and prices of pre-owned models have risen considerably! 😮
