Finally found one!

A meant-to-be score at a vintage shop outside Kansas City: A 1969 (November, per the serial number lookup) Speedtimer notch-case/resist Cevert on the original bracelet…already sized to my wrist! Been after one of these for many years and thrilled to finally have one. The first automatic chronograph brought to market and still ticking away beautifully. Looked much better on Cevert himself but I’ll take a little bit of the reflected glory.

Congrats, they are so cool. You get a good deal?

I think so—it was priced well enough that I couldn’t resist. I haven’t seen a notch-case in this condition from a reputable dealer within $300 of what I paid. I’m sure they pop up on eBay at around the same price but I’m wary of buying vintage from random folks online.

Second time there, and could have spent all day (and a LOT more money) if I didn’t have a plane to catch ;)
