Coffee and Watches

Anybody else a coffee fan? I am drinking Death Wish coffee in my cup. Definitely not my favorite but they sell it at Target which is where i was and it's way better than Starbucks (they literally don't know how to roast coffee if you compare theirs to micro- roasters and it's disgusting to boot).

I prefer a couple local roasters in my city but i can't always get to their shops to buy any. I grind my own beans and use a pour over method. My wife calls me a coffee snob but after i tried a more manual approach, Keurig cups or normal drip coffee are nasty to me. If i get coffee from a shop i prefer double shot lattes or Americanos.

I took a picture of my Sumo next to my amazing Contigo cup. It has held thousands of cups of coffee and survived probably a dozen drops. I am going to be retiring (it will be saved) it soon and starting over with new stickers on a new cup.

What is everyone's favorite coffee? Do you have a special cup?

Death wish coffee lol, I love coffee I’m going simple today mcafe, nice watch by the way

I do mocha lattés with beans from local roaster. Grind beans, times espresso shots, etc.

I’ve elevated coffee from a beverage to a ritual. 😉

I wouldn't say mine is quite a ritual. I don't make sure the water is at 195 F or 92 C but i know how much coffee to put in the grinder and i pour the water over a certain way... gotta let it bloom😄

Thank you. I become in awe of it every time i wear it. That's how you know you have a forever watch. I have no problem with Death Wish, either. It's not my favorite but it's still good. I enjoy drinking it unlike the cheap coffee i sometimes am forced to choke down when i run out of coffee before payday😄

Watches. I can afford the coffee

That makes two of us. Watches? Not so much...

I am a coffee snob and always on the hunt for an Americano at any cafe I can visit (not Charbucks) I also carry my Contigo or Yeti full of coffee before leaving the house and drink on it all day. For the everyday brew I prefer the Fresh Market's Jamacian Blue Mountain Blend, buy the whole beans and grind them at home.

I prefer African and Asian coffee over the Americas. I think it is much more flavorful and i prefer more tart coffee. Ethiopian and Sumatran are my favorite although a local roaster has some good Brazilian single origin

Excellent choices! Turkish coffee is quite good as well.

Take a look at Tampa’s Buddy Brew and Key West’s Cuban Coffee Queen.

Death Wish is a company right here by my

hometown, so I’m glad to see it reaching such a wide audience.

Owing to some cardiac issues, I’m at most a cup per day guy. As for brand, I make Lavazza becoase Mrs. Ticky likes it. Left to my own devices, I’d stick with instant or with cheap ground coffee boiled up in a saucepan cowboy style (minus the egg). That’s probably why my dear old late Dad watched me make a cup one morning and asked, “Don’t you have ANY respect for yourself?” And why my father-in-law always brings his own brewing rig when he comes to visit.

Favorite coffee of the month: Buddy Brew local roaster from Tampa Bay Florida. Whole Beans from Sumatra.

Favorite brewing method: traditional italian Espresso with Flair Pro 2 (completely manual lever espresso machine)

Espresso ratio: all of them, from ristretto to lungo

Grinder: Fellow Opus

Cup: Loveramics

Watch: Tissot Sideral

Cheers!! ☕️

Shocked no one has yet to post their coffee bean shots 😂

Hehe I never take coffee bean shots, as exposing it to air longer than necessary makes it rancid more quickly. 🙂 I prefer taking shots of the brewed coffee or while brewing. ;)

I usually do a pour over with any of these cone drippers. Missing in this shot is a Kalita Wave and the black ceramic one below.

Coffee Beans: I regularly support our local beans -- varied single origin farms in Benguet, Bukidnon, Cotabato, and Mt. Apo. On occasion, I also get beans from Kenya, Rwanda, Ethiopia, and Burundi, as well as from Costa Rica, Colombia, and Panama.

esspreso or moka pot for me , no sugar, no milk, no nonsense :)

Always felt that watches and coffee would be hobbies that attract the same kind of people... HAHAHA big fan of a good morning pour over here!

·

Both have become hobbies of mine. At 51 stopped drinking single malts and started enjoying coffee much more.

I love to rind and pour Costco’s rainforest blend as well as some local and national blends. My fave cup is my 14 oz Ember. Love it keep my coffee warm for an extended period.

·

I love coffee, it’s preparation has been a constant morning ritual for me for several decades. My current setup is a Rocket Appartamento machine with a Faustino grinder which I’ve been using for 3 years (replacing a Rancilio Silvia which I used for about 15 years), and in my spare time I make WDTs for myself and friends out of wine corks and acupuncture needles. Who can argue with the the most potent legal performance enhancing drug and the second highest traded commodity in the world. Coffee is so much fun and the pursuit of the perfect espresso is wonderfully unattainable, and the machines are shiny with knobs, switches, dials and levers. What’s not to love?

I am spoiled for Death Wish coffee. All else is too weak. This thread needs some Brew watches.

There is one brew watch. The Metric in PVD has been a consideration of mine for awhile.
