Ah yes, that famous song from "The Sound of Music" sung by the beloved Julie Andrews. Iconic song. Memorable scene.
"Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens, bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens, brown paper packages tied up with strings, these are a few of my favorite things...
"When the dog bites, when the bee stings, when I'm feeling sad, I simply remember my favorite things, and then I don't feel so bad."
On this hump day, two of my favorite things that help me "stay with it", are delectable specialty coffee and delightful chronometers (a.k.a. watches).
Taking photos of these two, while enjoying them both, is always doubly gratifying.
"These (then) are a few of my favorite (shots)..."
Whichever brewing method is used (pour over, espresso, French press, etc.), it's a pleasurable experience to sip the coffee, and gaze at the timepiece.
Whether at home, by our front gate, in a coffee shop, on the beach, or wherever... the enjoyment never ceases.
At breakfast, midday snack, lunch, or afternoon snack, it doesn't matter.
Delectable coffee and delightful chronometers will always go hand in hand.

@Ichibunz Your "Cappucino" ala Hakki501 watch, together with your favorite cup of coffee, will be a fantastic shot. ;)

Thank you as always, good sir! I just compiled past WRUW posts.
Awesome pics po! Please enjoy a coffee and a ensaymada for me. Also, just curious how do you find watch shopping in the Philippines? Do ADs haggle with prices or are they usually firm? As a Filipino American I am still trying to figure out when I can go visit. 🥲
Ganitong lamok ba?
Haha I remember that movie!!
Drinking coffee is an art practiced by civilized men and women. History tells us that most of humanity's worst disasters were caused by people who didn't drink enough coffee.
As to chronometers, well my time is precious but it's not COSC precious yet. If it was I would have to wear exclusively quartz watches or rely on a smartwach again and where would be the fun in this?
@Catskinner Wow, that's a new fact worth knowing. Thank you, good sir.
Yes, totally agree. Our time is indeed precious, and I'm not into the COSC certification hype. It's a helpful benchmark on manual watches, but how many people really care about +/- 1s accuracy in life, right? I doubt any of the COSC gatekeepers really value their time that much. Quartz will always beat COSC certified watches in all 12 rounds of "boxing" hands down. So yeah, it's a loose definition of chronometers, i.e. a tool used to measure chronological time. Heck, the sundial was the first chronometer!
Cheers, sir!
Perfect combination 👌⌚️☕️😁

You are a coffee connoisseur my friend ☕
Like many above, I covet your Timex Waterbury. It has a nice clear. Crisp dial and appears to be a real strap monster. But unfortunately, it is now a discontinued model 😕 Part of the fun is in the chase however.. I'll just need to look for a used one 😀

Just got into coffee about 4 years ago, and it's been a delightful experience.
Sad to hear it's a discontinued model. It really is a cool and gorgeous piece. Hope you find one soon. 💯
Nice watches, straps, coffee and photography! Well done and thanks for sharing.

Is your grinder a Rancillo? How about your espresso machine?

Grinder is Breville. Espresso maker is Solis (which I suspect is made by Breville…🤷🏼♂️) Grinder is better of the two, but both more than sufficient to my needs. ☕️
