Q: How did you get into watch collecting?

As a kid, many people in my family wore watches and were actively interested in them. I have always been fascinated with the manufacturing process and mechanical objects. Things all culminated when I bought my first 'real' watch (my Tag Heuer 1000) when I was 21 and got the watch collecting bug. Now, I am lucky enough to work in the watch industry, it is a true love and passion.

Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?

The very first was some swatch when I was a kid, no clue what it was though ๐Ÿซฃ

Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?

My Tag Heuer 1000 - I wanted this watch for years, I remember when I first saw one on Leo's wrist in 'The Wolf of Wall Street' and absolutely loved it from then. My friend and I were looking on eBay for guitars and one of us suggested looking up the Tag. When we did, we found a bunch all at decent prices (this was 2018) and when I got my first proper job later that year, I rewarded myself with one using my first pay check. My Tag Heuer is still my favourite watch. I have since had it restored (it came back looking stunning) and it has been an overall pleasure to own.

Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?

Do your research. Read everything. Watch plenty of YouTube. Don't be scared to go and look at watches without purchase intent. Don't rush. Be 100% with your purchase.

Q: What is your grail watch and why?

Realistic - Day-Date 36mm Gold (this watch has for as long as I can remember felt like a dream watch. Not sure what it is, but it just has always looked so special to me. Truly iconic and forever stylish.) Unrealistic - Patek Phillippe 5711 (I mean, its a 5711 ๐ŸคŒ)
